BGP is now BG Champions League (think Champions League not Premier League) - meaning you can still (and should) participate in BGW. That way, in case you flame out in BGC, you can earn a spot in next year's BGC by doing well in BGW.

(2) I only have access to BGW since that's the only league I participate in
