That was one of the times where if you didn't have a firm understanding of the game it would be bland as hell to watch. From a technical standpoint Infiltration was doing some amazing stuff, but the overall matches were just blah.

IMO part of it was also because it was Infiltration doing it. If it was Daigo dominating the competition in that fashion everybody would be amazed.

I'm didn't mean to say that everything he did was bland. Lots of things he did on reaction and a few U1 setups were just plain nuts. I just expected more from the top 8. Another thing could be that SF4 just isn't as flashy as the other games.

Hell no, AE EVO2k11 Top 8 was the hypest shit since the Marvel 2 days. Every match except Flash (how the fuck did he top 8 still!?) was a nail biter.

I agree that Infiltration made it boring as hell because no one likes Infiltration and he has 0 personality.

Note: Infiltration will be at Season's Beatings this weekend.

He made it boring by steam rolling every. single. opponent. The best match in top 8 was probably Daigo vs. gamerbee, that shit was ridiculous. Best overall SF match for me is probably Dieminion vs. Infiltration though. B A N A N A S

CEO top 8 as better than Evo by far. Infiltration cleaning house after Akuma players crying over nerfs was nice to see. It just wasn't that hype

Nobody is contesting 2k11 AE was hella hype. Fear of the Yun army. A nasty top 8. Daigo getting P'd on. Flash trolling all of the main Giefs of the world. Latif's 2nd place finish.

Everyone has already brought up why AE 2K12 was a snoozefest. The only really big story that could have come out of it besides Infiltration's complete fucking obliteration of the entire playing field was Dieminion making top 8 with Guile. Other than that, it just didn't live up to the batshit insanity that occurred last year. Hence why everyone's saying it was KOF and Marvel's year.

Even then, we're only one year into Marvel. Hopefully it matures into good vintage.
