    Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pixels_%282015_film%29

    Synopsis;
When aliens misinterpret video-feeds of classic arcade games as a declaration of war, they attack the Earth, using the games as models for their various assaults. The President of the United States, William Cooper (Kevin James), calls upon his childhood best friend, former 1980's video game champion Sam Brenner (Adam Sandler), who is now a home theater installer and had a previous relationship to William's attractive wife (Jane Krakowski), to lead a team of old-school arcaders (Peter Dinklage and Josh Gad) to defeat the aliens and save the planet.
    Cast:

    Peter Dinklage
    Adam Sandler - Sam Brenner
    Ashley Benson - Lady Lisa
    Josh Gad
    Michelle Monaghan
Kevin James - President Will Cooper

    Jane Krakowski - First Lady
    James Preston Rogers - Seal
    Matthew Lintz - Actor
Michael Boisvert - Secret Service Agent
    Howard Pont - Grateful Passerby

    Trailer:

    Notes:

    - The director of the original short film, Patrick Jean, was replaced because Happy Madison wanted more of a "big tentpole sized action-comedy."
    - The original concept for the film was going to be a "Ghostbusters-style action comedy in which characters come out of a video game to wreak havoc in the real world."

100% Agree. I've lost a lot of respect for Adam Sandler in the last couple years.

Adam Sandler cast, Josh Gad & Kevin James set to join
Adam Sandler has been cast in the Chris Columbus directed film Pixels, and Josh Gad (Frozen) and Kevin James (Grown Ups) are also in talks to join the production. Jennifer Aniston is also wanted for the female lead, but scheduling conflicts may keep her from doing it.

Pixels was a short film that blew up online back in 2010 and Sony quickly snatched up the rights to it, so they could develop it into a feature film. The short depicted several classic 1980s video game characters attacking New York City.

It was previously reported that the studio was looking to turn the movie into a "Ghostbusters-style action comedy in which characters come out of a video game to wreak havoc in the real world." There's no word on who the actors will be playing in the story, but it's sure to be a fun flick!

The director of the short, Patrick Jean, is executive producing alongside Happy Madison Productions producers Sandler and Jack Giarraputo.

Peter Dinklage will join Adam Sandler and Kevin James in the cast of the upcoming film Pixels, according to a Variety report. The addition of the Game Of Thrones star brings a touch of prestige to the project, which previously consisted only of a rather fetching special-effects reel and half the main cast of Grown Ups 2. The movie reportedly follows a group of video game experts who fight back when Earth is attacked by the likes of Q*bert and Pac-Man, but Variety has no word on Dinklage’s specific role. It could be that the producers of Pixels are simply recruiting the lead actors who come up when they search for “game” on IMDB. Expect future Pixels casting reports to include appearances by Michael Douglas, Jennifer Lawrence, Asa Butterfield, and the ghost of Gene Rayburn.

Do people even still find these "so stupid they're "funny"' movies actually funny? I have never had any patience for people acting purposely retarded - Ben Stiller, Will Ferrel, Jim Carrey and especially Adam Sandler are all guilty of this kind of acting/moviemaking to the extreme. The only Sandler movie I like is Happy Gilmore (I think EVERYONE likes Happy Gilmore, though)... although I never did see Reign Over Me, but it's not his usual fare.

I guess just keep pandering to the lowest common denominator like Bay is doing right now, it seems to work at any rate. I long to see a day when the public at large starts demanding more of their entertainment, but that day is most likely a long way off, if it ever comes at all.

Reign Over Me is a fantastic movie. It's also from 7 years ago and is mostly Don Cheadle, and while Sandler does do some of his usual sounds and mumblings, he actually delivers a great performance in what is a really good and underrated movie.

This on the other hand... so much potential completely wasted.

On a semi-related note, I love most movies where the typical "over the top comedian" does a serious movie. Reign Over Me, Dan in Real Life, Stranger Than Fiction. Hector and the Search for Happiness (Simon Pegg, hasn't come out yet) looks fucking fantastic too! I'm stoked for it.

Albeit, anything serious Ben Stiller does has been mediocre at best. Greenberg was terrible and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty tried WAAAAAAAAAAAY to hard to be a "look at Ben Stiller be emotional and human and real" and was all sorts of boring.

I hate Will Ferrel's movies - a lot - but I loved Stranger than Fiction. Really good movie.
