I try to think of the aliens as representing scientology, which puts "religion" back in the series. Still doesn't make it a good movie though.

Hand of Thrawn was a two book "duolgy" (Specter of the Past, Vision of the Future), and were on par with the other three books by Zahn.

The point of this know it all moment is that you should read the first Thrawn books by Zahn, then read the two Hand of Thrawn books. And then, like me, never touch another EU book.
Usually they're just referred to as the Thrawn Trilogy iirc.

Personally, I'd love to see a Battlestar Galactica like series based on the X-wing novels. It'd be a perfect chance to "reboot" the series with fresh actors, since most of the characters are new, and use the show to lead up to the Thrawn Trilogy as 7, 8, and 9. But this is Lucas we're talking about, so it'll never happen.

I wonder how many years must pass after Lucas dies before his estate will allow remakes.

I hope I'm still around for the remakes. The lulz to be had if it ever happens would be priceless.

Probably the moment they are allowed to (will pending).

You're correct, my apology. I did mean the first three Thrawn books.

I've read every EU book up until the huge New Jedi Order series with the Yuuzhan Vong. I stopped after that.

I don't follow them either, but I've heard Dark Horse has some good Star Wars comics.

I haven't stayed current, but Dark Empire was a good story. (Dark Horse comics).

New Bloodlines novel officially renames Slave Leia as "The Hutt Slayer." Leia having an English accent is also made canon.

This thread is nearly 4 years old, but I couldn't think of a better place to put this news as it fucks with OT fandom.
