I don't get it.

I'm far from a hardcore player and I can access all of this content.

Well if you are far behind, nobody ever does the lower missions to access these. I had to shout for 2 hours and then offer 100k and finally got 3 people 10m after. So, its like FFXI having to pay for what you want, that's fine. The rest of the shit I can't hope to do without a LS which I haven't gotten and my playtime doesn't suit the ones that I've seen on my server.

I actually prefer it that way, being XI is the best. I just thought they were gonna change it a bit as Garuda/Ifrit are different than FFXI a bit.

A very small percentage of players have legit Garuda wins, and if this is supposed to be the hardest thing in the game then it stands to reason that it is inaccessible.

I don't mind that it is, but it also sort of sucks for anyone not in a position to clear it. (If it is indeed the hardest challenge the game has offered yet)

For anyone who has done a few of the challenging hard modes and XIV as well as WoW: have any of XIV's fights been as challenging (initially for both games) as, say, Hard mode Professor Putricide? Has SE advanced to that level of challenge-yet-not-from-shitty-mechanics design yet?

If so, 2.0 is going to be even better. I fucking loved Putricide Hard Mode back in the day.

only 2 groups i know that have beaten this since they patched it, both groups are Japaneses, latency is the key to ff14! which is the hardest challenge of all

Im guessing they meant the fight is the hardest, non Ifrit extreme, fight in the game.

Garuda is simply a step by step fight, you learn a step, clear it, then learn the next and keep doing that until you win.

Latency isn't an issue in Garuda, it's not like Ifrit(and even then, most people have adjusted and learned to deal with the latency)

All of the items from the patch notes were actually added last patch. Same with Atomos. So, probably nothing new. Who knows tho.
