HOLY FUCK WE'RE NEVER GOING TO SEE GAMEPLAY AT GAMESCOM.
Anyway now that's over, can't tell whether there's still much animation lock but it looks awesome.
Chill out, seriously.
I upvoted the do you speak english comment
Dragonfire Dive and Chaos Thrust are used twice fairly close together. I wonder if they lowered recast times for the demo or removed them outright with TP capping at 1k.
Looks sweet. WS animations are solid. It's funny how little I cared about jumping, but now that Ive seen it, it does look pretty sweet. No more two foot rock cliffs blocking my way.
It certainly seems to be more in-line with an 'energy' system you'd see in WoW or whatever. He pops dragonfire dive a lot though so it's hard to know whether this is just for the event or they've dropped recasts a lot. Hopefully they have because new DFD looks AWESOME.
Edit: Love the chocobo jump animation, lil' flappy wings.
Ops didnt see it nvm lol looks good tho.
And holy shit at meteor limit break at 9:30 lol
edit: beat on the video.
Dropping recasts would make a DPS system based on damage/delay way more intuitive. (eg, Garuda's Axe would be just as good as any other axe with an exact same DPS because it would get TP faster and could spam abilities faster)
did the dragon's animations look a little weird to anyone else? I know it was being hit, but that d00d was twitching around quite a bit
Still all looks cool tho
btw, we're going to be able to chose a different race, ya?
meteor LB owning a dragon i does see!?....fuck it im totally sold now \o/
God, I love that German: "AGCH!" every third syllable. Anyway, onto the vid:
Click-and-drag looks fast and crisp. Groovy. Jump looks fine. Kinda wondering about regular attacks, but not worried, as the current 1.0 system is fine. Insta-mount is good, but I'd rather see a "puff of smoke" entrance like in WoW than the XI-esque "lag-phase entrance". Would have liked to have seen jumping up onto and off of terrain to see if we'll still be victim to the Rolanberry Fields white picket fence of doom. I suspect not, but who knows. Movement certainly seems to resemble a mix of XI and GW2, which isn't bad.
Edit: I took the dragon part as pretty much just a placeholder. The party wasn't moving around, the Dragon wasn't moving around; I suspect actual fights with actual dragons are going to involve a lot more movement. Short of them showing an actual boss encounter, I think we've seen most of what we needed to see in terms of that situation. The scale looks nice.
The engine looks really nice. Great shading and everything except for the ground textures looked lush. Hopefully SE has learned how to work on/with PCs and can optimize the game so that its not leaking everywhere, but it looks good.
Pose for the Limit Break bitches. Gonna pick up a PS3 copy just to support Yoshi.
wow, i'm impressed. That was pretty fucking sweet.
You know, all I can picture is everyone bitching on the OF about how much the guy jumped ^^
