Is/n't Tesla literally/figuratively crashing?

I really wish I had the 3k or whatever it was to spare to have bought a single option contract. Given everything with Tesla lately it would go crazy after the split.

Options went up about 120% just from the split.

I’m wondering when/if it will all come crashing down or at least stop skyrocketing.

You could always run a credit spread and limit the loss and collect the premiums. But I hear you, TSLA is very volatile no telling if it will keep climbing or come back down.

Honestly I don’t know enough about options to feel confident in pulling anything like that off with any sort of confidence that I won’t screw it up and end up somehow losing more money than I put in. I know you’re correct but I simply am not confident enough to try as I’m new to investing and it doesn’t seem worth the risk of me botching it.

Understandable. Options are a bit scary at first, but once you start learning it can be a bit of fun. If you ever want to get into options there are a lot of different strategies where you can limit your loss, but you also limit your max potential earnings. I am too chicken to roll a Call Option so I just stick with Credit Spreads because I can control exactly how much I can possibly lose so I only buy spreads where the maximum potential loss is in my comfort zone.

Lately I just bought some calls on Slack (work) and so far it’s been paying off and somehow up 5% after hours.

But then I see what Zoom is doing right now and get a little fomo.

But yeah I’m slowly learning more. I read about various spread types and whatnot but I want to make sure I get a full grasp before I try anything like that.

If Elon was smart he'd sell a few shares of stock, hand out $500bn in bonuses to the line workers as a thank you for making such a difficult year so good for Tesla, and tweet a reply that says "Way to spoil my Christmas bonus plan asshat". He'd make the money back in about 15 minutes.

I never understood why these ultra rich dudes don't do things like this more often. It would cost them so little in the long run but manipulate the system in their favor in a big way.
