according to fb posts, gw1 is down too. seems to be serious.

The funny part is that since we aren't paying a monthly sub, they can't do what may MMOs do and apologize by giving us a free month or something.
it's just a pitty after enjoying the lag free servers, someone had to stagger over the login cluster balance server power cord.
Even if it where an P2P MMO we wouldn't have a leg to stand on if we moaned then because technically this isn't the 'official' release either lol How serious can it get really? It's only traffic seems like people just over exagerating. If it where anything out of the ordinary or anything exceptionally serious like a delay on release or something they would of said by now the game has had this issue since about 8 hours ago, it was just when it started to get reasonable hours for the masses it was tipped over the edge.
I don't know if its exaggerating, because here it is. You can't exaggerate something that is actually happening, and is still happening exactly how people are describing it. This doesn't worry me, but it instead makes me wonder if there were more total players that pre-ordered or that did not. I'm wondering how the rush on Monday/Tuesday is going to be if the pre-order congestion is this bad.
We'll see. I'll admit I'm a bit bummed this game out 2 days before my classes start.
Anyway, new update. It's not much, but at least it sounds like they might have found the problem:
At present our server team are working on the underlying problems that are causing login issues, we thank you for your continued patience as we work to resolve this. ~AT
It's just the servers going down on the release day for probably the most anticipated MMO to date. Did no one else expect this? That's why I am so impressed with their ability to keep the actual game servers running fine, just the logging servers had issues but you got past that eventually. There is nothing wrong with the game guys its just the their log in servers have just received a colossal smashing.
I've been in all of today's MMO's releases and it's happened every time. That's why I questioned if this was being exaggerated not the fact that the servers are fucking annihilated lol that's pretty obvious.
I hope things are fixed before I get home.
At character select now.
People are demanding shit when servers are down on the head start program?
That's soooo SWTOR
Successfully patched, and in game now.
Appears to be down for me still Gonna assume they are still working on the EUs
Managed to get in. Only problem now seems to be the patch server being congested beyond all belief.
Scanning twitter; the amount of QQing over it lagging like fuck and shit is sooo hilarious. It's like people have never experienced 'first day/pre-release' launches or something. This shit will ALWAYS happen.
Whether they fix it or not they are still going to have to fight the hoards of people logging in at once, I am absolutely clueless about servers and all that jazz so I wont pretend I do know but it seems like its something that might not be 100% stable until the hype of the release is dead. aka it will gradually fix its self over the course of a week or so.
And people ALWAYS complain, it's like some principle behind how universe works.
I think it's just due to the amounts of people accessing the servers at one time when they're trying to log in. If there's that sort of an issue, why don't they put on a cap on the servers to limit the amount of people logging in at once so people can sort of filter in through a narrow passage in a single file line instead of all swarm in a wide passage, fighting each other along the way? (Best analogy I can come up with..)
Okay I managed to get past the patching now the log in fun, they seem to be slowly sorting it. Yay :D
Hell atleast you dont have to wait 4hrs to get in like Swtor
