The throw backs like "Here's to you" and "Age hasn't slowed you down one bit" were excellent touches.

I was JUST gonna say that. lol

Also this is definitely Big Boss and takes place maybe 5-10 years after MGS3. I'm gonna go ahead and speculate that the kid in the cage is one of the "Sons of Big Boss".

I'm so confused as to what's happening. Am I supposed to remember who wrinkly guy is? Where in the timeline are we?

I would say late 70s early 80s to be honest. MGS3 main storyline took place from the end of August to September 1964. Kid is playing a cassette player which was invented in 73 and didn't really take off in the public till 1980s.

Kid also had the audio plug of his headphones plugged into his fucking chest until he got the cassette player back. Also Snake is using a hologram map apparently(?), so I don't know if using real life tech to place the time is appropriate.

This is a prologue to MGS5. Obviously takes place sometime after PW.

Yes but Peace Walker took place in 74 which was mostly the point I was making on the timeline having to be much later. As this obviously is after Peace Walker Considering the mention of Paz, Chico and the fact that Big Boss has Gray hair.

Ah, me only playing the main games came back to bite me I guess. I may have like 4 peace walker shirts, but I've never owned a PSP lol. Guess I'll try to emulate the psp games sometime in the future.

Get the HD collection for ps3 or xbox. I felt the same way, really wanted to play Peace Walker but didn't want a psp. So the HD Collection was really a life saver and gives you such an amazing game.

    ^With updated graphics :D

And holy fuck. Can't wait for this. I'm curious how the open world will work.

Supposedly the Boy might be Chico from Peacewalker.

Hopefully this won't look too butchered down on the PS3 port.

Oops. You are correct sir. I was going based off the ending of MGS3 where they do the bullet points and say "1972 - Les Enfant Terribles Project" and placed the time from 5-10 from there.

Pretty much the conclusion you came to though.

And yeah I'm sold... Gonna go buy the HD Collection so I can play Peace Walker.

Perfect timing for another Big Boss game as he killed The Boss on this day 48 years ago. Kojima ended the PS2 Era with a Big Boss title with MGS3. PSP with Peace Walker, and now PS3 with this.

As much as I want to play this game asap I wouldn't mind it coming out for next generation as well. Just so Kojima can take advantage of the advancements in technology.

If that guy isn't a new character, my best guess is Colonel Volgin.

That poster looks like Snake is competing against 24 on Fox.
