My friend said I should at least play MGS3 before playing this. Can't decide what to do @_@
Not that it is REALLY needed....but MGS3 is the greatest game ever created and it does help you connect with the series better.
This ^
So far i've played about 4 1/2 hours atm and only done the first 2 missions lol just been faffing about in free roam collecting shit for the past 2 or so hours but my god it lived up to my hype, feels like 3+PW combined with the added bonus of a massive playground to boot.
All you need to know about MGS3 is the ending honestly. There's lots of connections that MGS3 will help you appreciate in MGS5 I'm sure, but nothing that really takes away from the game. This isn't like jumping into Kingdom Hearts II as if it's the only KH game you've ever played; this is more like jumping into a Mass Effect 2/3 game having not played the game preceding it. You will get the full story, but there's some back stuff and missing connections you won't notice because you haven't been keeping up.
Just watch the movie.

Is the PC version... available? Can't check sites at work.
i am scared of the specs because www.game-debate.com (whatever the fuck that is) says only my ram and gpu are good enough. Said my i5-2500k won't run it. Someone pls help
get a console
I have a q6600. If that can run it so can you.
Apparently I've been recruiting a bunch of weeaboo faggots covering my base in kawaii desu shit....
Got my CE. They spelled gauntlet and latch wrong on the arm. And this is my last post until I beat the game.
Fuck it, starting the series with V. No fucks given.
Geez, that prologue was pretty intense. Also dat ass crack, lol.
Did two missions for now, my stealth skills are a little rusty so I raised a couple of alarms already The big areas and all the stuff you can find there are a little scary
Never played mgs before but I got ground Zero thanks to ps+.
Is it a good game to feel how the series is?
It's probably going to be considered the best in the series. If you really don't want to go back, just watch the movies that were posted in this thread. If you don't plan on playing MGS4, then I'd skip MGS1-2, and if you're not going to play Peace Walker, skip 3 and just read the "story so far" from Ground Zeros.
Like I said before, you won't be lost in this game like jumping into a random KH.
