The grand finale of FINAL FANTASY XIV will culminate with all Worlds going offline on November 11, 2012. We do, however, understand that some players may wish to continue playing the current version, even though player data accumulated during this time will not be saved or carried over to A Realm Reborn.

That was prolly the best players poll ever. Even getting to play for free I don't see the point in playing 1.0 during ARR's beta if no progress will be saved.

Why? The people who want to play can vote for themselves. If they outnumber the others, they'll get to play. If they don't, it's a waste of time, money, and resources keeping it up for that few of a number of people.

^ Kill it with fire. I've enjoyed watching the game grow from the horrendous train wreck it was in the beginning, but it's time to move on. Kill it off and let's push ahead to 2.0 asap.

I hear a lot of actual players bitching about the fact that alpha/beta progress won't carry over to your 2.0 save, than about keeping the game going after Nov 1st. These aren't casual players btw, so it's not that they don't know whats up. Sometimes you can't fix stupid. If you still can't grasp the concept of why/how its done, go back and recall beta > retail.

I personally don't see the point in carrying past Nov. 1, and I look forward to playing Alpha/Beta, even if my characters are wiped every night.

Apparently, the poll does not like my PC at work, says its in a different region, guess texas doesn't count as USA

I'll vote to keep servers open considering a decent amount (mostly JP) are still playing, and from the looks of it from various screenshots I've seen, some server(s) has decent amount of players still sitting around town etc.

Voted no for this same reason. What a long and strange trip it's been... but now that we're so close to playing the game that we should've gotten at the start, theres no point in looking back. Fuck 1.0 and bring on ARR.
