    You have to activate "new UI" in the config (before opening POL)... but since I dont have test server installed on "normal" folder.. cant make then to work...

    I enabled it in FFXI_config. It's the worst GUI I've ever used bar-none. They legitimately seem to want it to be mouse-based.

    Not just "I am not used to it, so I don't like it." Like:
    * "I can't move the radar and it overlaps my macro pallets."
    * "I can't access the menu options because I accidentally moved one and now two menus overlap and neither can be moved independently"
    * "I'm stuck in the Feretory because I tried to 'Stalk prey as a monipulator' and the next menu never came up."

    Like, the watermark in the background here is what I need to get to so I can change other menus. It's hidden behind what I assume is "Log 2." I'd like to go test "Log 2," but I can't leave this zone.

    The scroll bars on the side of the chat log don't work either. The vast majority the changes they've implemented are solely for the small fraction of the PC userbase that rely on mice, and many of them don't even work. Also, pointy menus. 2/10 would not use. Oh, and in case you were hopeful that the new GUI offered some new information... as far as I can see, it doesn't. It doesn't tell you distance, the HPP of your target, or any new stat information.

    LOL I know right? But this allows some jobs to have a secondary set of weapons... like 2x Halachuinic Sword for RUN... for those days you wanna feel different but not completely gimp.. also good for fighting mobs that respond better to Requiescat over Resolution.

    test server... can you recall whenever they do something right on test server?

    and you will always have the option to stay with old UI so no worries about it

    With the exception of this UI, they generally release nearly completely developed content to the test server and just leave out the English translations. Like, the only notable thing they changed about monstrosity was the xp tnl for higher levels and the initial quest. This UI is a far cry from that level of preparedness.

    It looks like the UI is missing the icon support (which they created all new icons for) and any kind of background / wallpaper support in addition to the functionality issues you mentioned. I want to BELIEVE. (I'm never going to stop using a controller)

    The enter button on my controller and keyboard were also only working intermittently but that could have been something else.

    Tried out the new UI, it's wonky to say the least. Looks like they scrapped w/e they had built in the Tanaka era and are starting from scratch. As noted, some menu's can not be moved, while others can. Pet HP bar shows up in it's own window that is dead center and can't be moved. not distracting. Radar is at the top and has several unlabeled boxes that either open menus or do nothing. One on the far left opens the treasure pool window which can be left open. Kinda neat.

    Log windows 1 and 2 can be customized so you can display what info you want to show up in which. Like you can put all chat in one window and all battle info in another. Chat filters still work as normal and further limit what is displayed in either window. For w/e reason log 2 can't have fewer than 1 line shown at any given time despite log 1 being able to have 0 as normal. Can customize the size, line min/max for both windows. And both windows can be moved around the screen.

    There's 3 sets of macros. The standard ctrl/alt set and a click only set that is massive for no reason. There's a drop down menu to change the macro set/book at anytime. also kinda neat though not really faster than key commands. Also noted that alt/ctrl B doesn't open the pet menu anymore. probably a bug since it's still set in the key commands. ctrl/alt a works for attack still. didn't check others.

    Overall seems really early in the design and hopefully will get better but looks like it might be kinda cool if they fix a lot of weird crap.

    Disappointed in how the new skirmish upgrades work. I was hoping they would keep ghastly stones in use for weapons and use the new ones for armor only.

    That entire 15 minutes on the test server with the new UI was one of the least pleasant experiences I've been through.

    Also, it's the test server. I'm sure that's not the final look. They even posted on the official POL site that "details will be released at a later date," and there isn't even a link.

    When using it, it felt like first-compile or at best alpha level completeness. They normally give us beta or pre-release level completeness, so I'm hoping that the appearance on the test server is more for "look/design" feedback before they continue developing it, rather than them thinking they have it at beta stage.
