FFXI on Alienware M14x Resolution problems

I seem to have some issues on this.

I'm not too good with working around laptops or computers overall so i'm asking for some help here.

Currently, windowed mode FFXI is running on 800x600 and the words look super tiny that I can barely even read the names or the HP bar on the FFXI window.

How could I make this look better?

I'm on an alienware m14X btw.

Well, according to google, your laptop runs 1600x900 natively, so could start with that. If menu appears too tiny, can lower the resolution on that indepedent from what the game renders nowadays. If you want fake-AA, could double the background resolution from 1600x900, but given it's a laptop, probably not worth the extra heat generated.

Ok, lemme walk ya though this. This is pretty simple to fix actually.

    1. First, what is your screen resolution set at? Left click on your desktop and hit Settings if you are on Windows XP, if you're on Windows 7(More likely), hit Start==>Control Panel==>Appearance and Personalization===>Adjust Screen Resolution (LOOK AT IT ONLY, DO NOT PLAY WITH THAT! Since it's an Alienware, it's prolly already set at the best resolution for your screen.)
    2. Set overlay, background and menu as close to that as you can in FFXI Configuration. Then login, and do not be afraid to lower overlay and menu some if it's too small.

This should fix it, tho you will have to hit the maximize button on the window every. time. I don't know why. ^^

[Edit] Kaisha was just a second faster but that ought to work too.
