I play first person games in increments. I can't play a FPS for hours on end. The most recent game I played for more than 30 minutes straight is probably Far Cry 5. Since I still have Doom, Deus Ex MD, Soma, The Talos Principle, and more first person games to go through I can hold off on this. I still think the game will be amazing, I just can't justify a day 1 purchase since it's first person.

Fallout and Elder Scrolls can be played in 3rd Person, they just handle better in 1st.

Fallout games I stay in 3rd person. Skyrim I'd switch between the two once combat started. Any other game that has the option for third person I choose it.

I tried both in 3rd and it was clear that it was definitely meant to be in first person perspective and didn't work nearly as well. I tried them both around the time Witcher 3 and Dragon Age Inquisition came out and were hooked on those instead. I wouldn't mind giving fallout 4 a shot as I haven't tried that one yet and apparently they did a much better job with third person mode this time around.

Whoops I will give you that one. I freaking loved portal, and the witness. Apparently my exception to this hating on first person games is puzzles.

Yeah, that is kind of crazy. I'm curious if it's a lack of playing FPS games when you guys were younger? I know my first experience with FPS was GoldenEye, which my friends and I played the shit out of. Then we moved on to Perfect Dark, and it just went from there.

It's not my favorite genre, but I can still enjoy it. I recently played System Shock 2 because of never really having a gaming PC, and even though it's an old game it instantly became one of my top favorite games. Never would've happened if I didn't like FPS.

As a youngster I never played many First Person games so that very well may be why I have an issue with it. I've also been PC gaming for only roughly 3 1/2 years. I see and agree where K/M is dominate compared to a controller, even in a single player game. It may also have to do with using a 40" 4K monitor as a main and now a 32". I have used a 27" before and have heavily considered going back to it for gaming. sometimes the size seems like just too much.

I played Borderlands but in increments. I was trying to recall the first first person game I played and it's probably the original Doom. I fucking loved Zero Tolerance for the Genesis. Only other first person that comes to mind is GoldenEye from childhood.

In my case I think it has to do with being a still fairly new PC gamer and being so close to a monitor. When playing a FPS on my TV sitting on the couch I have no issues. While I love the 32" monitor I use as my main, I've been considering getting a 27" because it's a bit much to be sitting 3 feet from a 32".

I watched the trailer again this morning and my interest has went back up. Depending on where I'm at with other games in my backlog will determine how fast I guy this. Or I'll get a jones for it like FC5 and buy it right away.

It's both. You can play third or first.
