The instant BG ban on FFXIV Alpha stuff is pretty lame. Can people just start posting it on Reddit, because I have no idea where else to see Alpha info other than here. http://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv

If discussion of Alpha is not allowed, perhaps the warning at the top of the forum should be updated to say that, instead of saying that screenshots are not allowed.

As a side note, what changed between 1.0's closed Alpha/Beta and ARR? During those releases, threads like this and this and this and this were allowed to exist, while discussing NDAed material.

Discussing NDA Material is fine, as long as you provide NO linking to any source material that hosts said discussion material. In essence it would then be considered "Speculation". Of course this would include screenshots. If it's been posted by SE, then you're good to go, ie the source must be SE. If you are having trouble figuring out, chances are it isn't official.
