I'm also interested in Iroha's presence in Eorzea, seems like they're not done with her yet.

Are they being set up to be something new/evolving into some higher power or are they showing us what specialising might do? Cos in the story Y'shtola very pointedly talks to you about how Thancred is different now (as if we haven't noticed) and how he can't cast magic. Just as we had the changes in Y'shtola pointed out to us by Matoya. And Krile does seem like a Seer but is she going to be a trainer for a new job like Yugiri was before? I dunno but there are some big neon signs here around the changes the Scions we've recovered so far have been through. Not least the new looks lol... They made such a big fuss about Y'shtola's new outfit in the last part of the story too.

I think the differences in Y'shtola and Thancred are pointed out to show that the nature of their escape in 2.5 was not without consequences. Y'shtola white eyes were pointed out by Matoya as basicly being blind and seeing with aether and that is dangerous and likely life shortening. Thancred uncovered eye is now white as well in addition to possibly being unable to use magick.

As for Iroha yeah its weird she just dissapear and go back to Vanadiel, maybe a part 2 coming? Seems like a pipe dream for characters to bleed into other FF games permanently but who knows SE does seem to be doubling down on whole all FFs are connected through the void nonsense even if it does just lead to idiots bickering on the Offical forums. Iroha does seem popular and XI is "done" and correct me if I'm wrong but whole XI ending story is all timey whimey so at the end adult Iroha wouldn't exist in Vanadiel once problem is solved right? I'm not a fan of her staying but it also doesn't seem impossible \( -__-)/

Well I just finished Rhapsodies of Vana'diel, and judging by some of the events in that storyline, Iroha becoming a permanent fixture of Eorzea doesn't seem remarkably farfetched.

A part 2 is coming considering the amount of FFXI content they added in the dat files with the 3.1 updates that weren't used in the quest yet.

I really feel like we're being led towards an FFIII or V "two worlds split apart" revelation. The whole thing with the Rejoining, whatever Urianger was reading, and the WoD having fought numerous Primals but us not being aware of it seems to point to the idea that the WoD is us, but from the "other side", where Zodiark takes the place of Hydaelyn as the massive crystal in the heart of the world.

The only thing that concerns me is the WoD flashback where he very clearly uses a weapon of Light. It could be that he used to be against the Ascians but was exposed to some truth or other that swayed him to their side.

Maybe they'll be as lame as to go down the Alternate Universe rabbit hole like Abyssea in XI, and WoD took all the same steps as us in his world up until some crucial decision after beating Lahabrea (assuming thats what that flashback was) when he was swayed to the Ascians' side. I mean, As Goes Light, So Goes Darkness seems to indicate some degree of parity in what we've been through.

I'm thinking this is all heading towards a "The Ascians are trying to do the Right Thing in a Bad Way or for Bad Reasons" revelation. Like, the Rejoining might not be a terrible thing, but trying to achieve it with seven events of mass death and chaos is the wrong way to go about that. Likewise, if they're trying to weaken Hydaelyn so Zodiark can predominate her (because they're tempered by Zodiark?), maybe there's a way to join the two in a more equal measure. Elidibus certainly seems concerned with balance more so than the others who are all "LORD ZODIARK SHALL RULE ALL" all the time.

I'm also assuming the moon is somehow the gateway between worlds for no reason other than that's where we first saw the WoD.

I agree that we seem to be going FFIII/V, or possibly even XI WotG with it. That's my main hope.

Or maybe I'm being pulled that way because I absolutely despise SE's whole lore meta about "The Derp/Darklander is his own character off having his own adventures, but he's still supposed to represent you and have some of the experiences as you while making different decisions. Somehow." Having an alternate world would make this much more acceptable to me.

This is a dumb question but in the Syrcus tower furnishing what's the red orb revolving around the top of the tower? Is it just a depiction of Dalamud or something else I missed from lore?

It is indeed Dalamud. Makes sense since Dalamud is what was providing energy for the Crystal Tower.
