I have a feeling this coming Tuesday's Epic Meal Time is going to be kind of a tribute to all junkfood cake things.

Actually it was a lot more than I counted...we had 6-7 bags from all the places we went. Laid everything out on the counter...this was the result:
Spoiler: show
I have the feeling this will all be sorted in a few weeks and Hostess will be going along just fine, with a fatter wallet thanks to the free press.
That being said, I should probably pick up some Ding-dongs soon. Those things are downright delicious frozen.
Enjoy your diabeetus, tummy.
Raspberry Zingers?
Fucking heathens.
The factory workers currently making them will be gone yeah, I think there's no way that a worldwide recognizable brand such as "Twinkie" wouldn't get sold to another baker and continue to get made.
The brand will be sold. Who the hell says that the new company has to keep making the current twinkies? Or any of them? They owned a lot of patents on the way their bread was made, and its a venture capital firm that busted the company. They could sell the brand without the recipe/patents to make it.
We could be looking at the end of Twinkies, period. Whatever comes next will either be the same thing, or we'll never have them again. If the new ones aren't exactly the same, then Twinkies just became a finite resource.
My lactose intolerance cries looking at that jug.
I'm not stating this as fact, but based on the facts I know and the semi-decent understanding of business I've picked up from my parents over the years, this is what appears to have happened:
Hostess looking like it's going to go under, for the 2nd time.
Calls for chapter 11, significantly raises executive pay to prevent them bailing from sinking ship.
Survives the bankruptcy.
Has to figure out a way to stay above water while now paying massively overpriced, underskilled execs (whom have bankrupted the place twice).
Tries to cut pensions, wages, health benefits, and "rules." (which as best I can tell applies to holidays, limits/floors on hours, etc.)
Minimum wage people not an issue. (cashiers etc.)
Delivery etc. unions agree.
Bakers' union says no.
Execs shut company down.
My facebook is blowing up with this. I've never purchased a twinkie. I may or may not have eaten 1 in my life, and if I did, it wasn't so omfg awesome that I care twinkies are going away. Alleged mass job loss sucks though I guess.
How have they kept selling those terrible dry mini-donuts for so long? Who the fuck actually eats those things? People who need to drink a full carton of milk before it expires and aren't thirsty enough?
As mentioned, Little Debbie and dozens of other companies make superior diabeetus snacks.
twinkies are good enough that it sucks they're going away, everything else they make someone else makes in some form or another anyway
you shut your whore mouth when it comes to dolly madison, not their fault you didn't l2shopatthebakerystore
Kinda glad it's gone, hope no one picks it up and starts marketing them again because honestly, the world could do with fewer products like what Hostess makes. Shit will kill you if you eat it often enough.
According to Rush Limbaugh, Michelle Obama is the reason Hostess is closing because of her "socialist push" towards healthy eating.
Let that sink in.
Edit: Was a joke but he is still blaming Obama for this.
