They were ridiculous 2 years ago, but they're pretty tame now, right? (I mean, to run on standard-ish settings.)

Every MMO should aim for ridiculously unattainable max settings on release. The graphics should be able to grow with technology.

During the first Alpha test, weren't emails sent out over the course of a day? I remember a few people telling me they got an email a lot later than other people did. I think that was the case for people in the EU at least.

I honestly can't remember if I signed up, though I probably did. At any rate we'll reap the benefits of English speakers breaking NDA. Frankly though, the only things I feel like knowing probably won't be added until Beta, specifically the new Monk mechanics.

Acceptance emails for beta tests are always sent in batches. The size of a batch can be large or small and sent at random times throughout the day, it's very possible that four batches of invites can be sent within a 10 hour time frame for an example. The only way to know for 100% that you're getting invited or not is to wait until the end of the day which is still a long ways off. With that information in hand, you can stop posting crap like "i didn't get in" when it's only 4:00 AM.
