Official global alpha start date: November 28th.

Greetings adventurers,

We're pleased to announce that the next phase of the A Realm Reborn Alpha Test is tentatively scheduled to start on Wednesday, November 28.
This phase will be adding in users from all regions (JP/NA/EU), and tester selection notifications will begin being sent out on November 26th.
Be sure to keep an eye on your email!

Just one more reminder... Don't forget about the confidentiality agreement regarding the Alpha Test (as referenced in this post).

Check your e-mails next Monday.

Did they release any numbers on how many players they would be inviting for this round of the alpha?

For the record, even if one weren't invited to this round of Alpha tests, additional Alpha test invites will be sent out as the testing progresses as it did with the JP tests.

Not to say that I don't want to get invited in the first round, though... XD

I wouldn't mind a new graphics card but I'm waiting until closer to release because the current cards will be cheaper after next year's new releases (I never go for top of the range) and we'll know whether the game performs best on AMD or Nvidia cards.

I almost bought a 660ti recently, but decided to hold off hoping something better would be out in the first half of next year.

Ugh, I can't register for ALPHA because I don't have a Square-Enix account and I can't go buy FFXIV and make one because they shut it all down. I remember I got into the 1.0 BETA without a registered Square-Enix account. If they opened up ALPHA like that, I would shit golden bricks of glory. This wait for 2.0 is getting painful.

If they opened up Alpha like that, it'd be overrun with idiots who wouldn't contribute to the improvement of the game.

I thought one of the main selling points of 2.0 was that it was going to be optimized and more forgiving of less powerful setups... if that's the case and your computer ran 1.0 fine, why do you need to upgrade? (For XIV particularly)
