geomancer af still looks stupid as fuck though. rune fencers on the other hand looks hot.
A month later, the game goes free to play!
Awwww yeah! Just around when I was expecting this.
unexpected so early, but nice ^-^ cant wait for it
They beat my estimate by a month. Hmph.
I can't think this soon is a good sign given the general mediocrity of the past year or so. Is the expansion needed? Yeah. Though, if this an all their eggs in one basket kind of deal, it could easily backfire. Either way, need more info.
the real question, are they going to have a direct download for NA users ps2?????
If I had been paying any attention then I would know there is not a NA PS2 version.
So SE is putting SoA up against Bioshock Infinite & the rumored GTAV release date? Awesome!
Its a MMO expansion, its not exactly like they appeal to the same sort of demographic. SoA appeals to people already playing/interested in FFXI, they will get it when it comes out regardless. C'mon son.
Will for sure be picking it up and playing with the new jobs. I can only hope theyre better than the last few new jobs.
no one is gonna listen to you.. for now.

earlier than my estimate by about a month. I was expecting April cos thats when Zilart and ToA were released, and its also right before the 11th anniversary..
but this is quite about right. The ToA teaser NPC quest happened about 2 months before the expansion released.. the WotG Crystal War revisited event happened a mere week or two away.. but that was different i guess.
anyway evidence reveals they've been working on SoA for quite some time.. so its not too soon
It will be the best thing ever for the best game.

http://www.novacrystallis.com/?p=4024#more-4024Final Fantasy XI’s fifth expansion, which was recently revealed this past summer at Vana Fest 2012, now has a release date.
Titled Seekers of Adoulin, this new add-on will see a new job class in the form of the Geomancer. New systems including Pioneering and Exploration will also introduce new elements to the 10 year old MMORPG.
Starting from March 27, 2013, the expansion will be available for PS2, PC, and Xbox 360 in Japan for ¥3980. Services for Seekers of Adoulin will start a day later on the 28th. An official announcement has yet to be made by Square Enix, but all should be revealed soon.

I don't like that word "add-on" in official post... last add-on we had were ACP, AMK and ASA.
