Think Jacare was like, the first of three to get signed if not the first, before the event is over. Jacare is gonna be a fucking problem for 185 division, think he'll be solid top 3.

i think he's gonna have a lot of problems with the guys he can't take down, his striking is much improved but Kennedy and Rockhold gave him fits with their wrasslin

It's notable to mention the list is far from definitive, there may be more announcements of additional fighters in the upcoming weeks according to a few sites.

I'm honestly surprised they picked up the Gracie kid...he's kinda name only.

Honestly, I think Rogers pretty good. Needs more experience but he definitely fights hard.

He has promise, but he's not UFC level imo.

Bellator on Spike right now for those that care.

Roger is only the best grappler alive, if that doesn't at least buy you a couple fights in the UFC, what does?

    A) that's a horrible overstatement, he's not the best grappler in his family
    B) his jiu jitsu is great, but his takedowns are shit and he's terrified to even try them
    C) his standup is atrocious

Are you happier if I rephrase it to best Submission Grappler alive?

he has the advantage of size, obviously, but his ADCC and Mundials open weight class wins didn't come by themselves. he can legitimately be said to be the best submission grappler alive

or maybe rather that he was when he competed solely in submission grappling, i'm sure his grappling skills have degraded some with the all encompassing MMA training

UFC grabbed him for name recognition and for the potential. Makes perfect sense. If he sucks they lose nothing and he gets cut. If he blows up then they got on board early. I don't see him being any more than a mid tier fighter at best but the UFC has kept worse fighters by far. Got to develop young guys somehow. Otherwise you end up with a barebones division of aging stars with a handful of top tier performers like the HW class.

Also kind of random. But my buddy left Iraq after serving with a PMC guarding objects and people "of interest" and is now training with Team Quest in Thailand(for some reason I kept thinking he was training with Dan Henderson's team. I was mistaken.) He had his first Muay Thai fight at the end of November, won by TKO in 2nd round. Kid is a beast. 6'3" 230lbs and he's fucking ripped. His teammates are all calling him the Juggernaut lol. You're going to end up seeing him stateside sooner or later. The kid fails at nothing he tries at.

I get that, I really do, I just think he is going to get destroyed by the first person they put him up against that isn't strictly a jits guy. His takedowns are really, really, really bad.

Nice! Good luck to your friend.

edit: whoah, the Barnett thing is unexpected. That is awesome, makes for some really good matchups for this year.
