Weidman has the best wrestling of anyone Silva has fought besides Sonnen and maybe Okami, but he's much more of a submission threat (Anderson's traditional weakness) than either of them.

but he doesn't fight with Chael's pressure and isn't a southpaw, and who knows what his chin is like he's never been hit that hard. also he gassed out like a motherfucker in round 3 of the Maia fight

it's an interesting matchup since he's the savviest submission artist Silva's faced since Maia, but unlike Maia he has enough wrestling that he might be able to showcase it.

still think Silva wins by stoppage but it's not another Bonnar fight

Weidman makes it close. But I just don't see him winning with the looming Jones/Silva supafight on the horizon. Silva will be motivated for that massive payday.

He cut 30 pounds in a week, for that pound if I remember right. Is why Dana didn't care if the fight wasn't filled with the fireworks it could have.

Yep, took the fight on short notice. Had to cut a ridongculous amount to make the fight even happen. Still won every single round easily against one of the most game opponents out there.

ah that makes sense, i just hadn't even seen him in another 3rd round besides the Sakara fight and he could lay on Alessio expending minimal energy for about half that fight. was wondering about his cardio

I agree though, his cardio could be suspect. I don't see anyone outlasting Silva until he age catches up to him and he hits that wall, though.
