and just for the record i'd say Sonnen's amateur wrasslin accomplishments are superior. it's true Weidman was a two-time All-American and Sonnen was only a 1-time All-American but Weidman's credentials are limited to folkstyle wrestling whereas Sonnen was also an extremely accomplished Greco-Roman wrestler, 1-time silver medalist at the University Games, 2 time Junior National Finalist, and in his Olympic bid he placed 3rd (good enough to be an alternate but not on the actual team) indicating he was the third best Greco-Roman guy in the country at his weight.
Weidman was the more accomplished folkstyle wrestler but Chael excelled at two wrestling disciplines and his Greco-Roman achievements are arguably more impressive than Weidman's folkstlye achievement.
not that it means anything definitively in MMA, Munoz was a D-1 champion whereas Weidman's highest placing was 3rd and we saw what happened there.
