Worst FF Main Character ever

I voted for Vaan, however he shouldn't be on that list anyway(Balthier is the leading man, says so himself, several times)
If Balthier were on that list instead of Vaan, I would have gone for Tidus, and bitch slapped anyone who would vote for Bal.
Squall a close second.

Tidus is the worst. He had the personality of a cardboard cutout. Squall, eh. He was a social pariah, like a nerd, rough around the edges if you will.

Honestly, Squall internalizing everything makes perfect sense. Like someone posted, dude's 17. We later find out he has abandonment issues which makes him semi-relateable as a main character when most of the people who stereotypically play RPGs are loners or most likely don't have a large group of friends (which is fine). Then the dude is made the leader of his own tiny squad despite being known that he was a bit of a narcissistic introvert. Then we witness him express his uncertainty internally because that's how any normal leader would. Plus he has to deal with Rinoa. Let's not pretend that anyone of us wasn't more annoyed that you had to save her than upset, especially when you had to fight those ugly-assed bug things.

The only reason imo that Lightning was able to portray her feelings better would be that women are typically more vocal about their feelings and the games are several years apart thus allowing for a better presentation.

Also I personally prefer characters who are dickheads probably because I'm a dickhead irl. Speaking of dickheads, I think a more interesting topic would be who is everyone's favorite FF villain. That's not done nearly as much.

Vaan all the way. He should have been an NPC. White Knight Chronicles did the same mistake. The controlled Character was just along for the ride, added nothing to the story.

Vaan did add to the story, as stated.
He was Ashe's anchor, whatevs.

I like Vaan, he's not the main character but there's nothing bad about him aside from the fact that he doesn't have a shirt on. I have a feeling he's so high on this list because of bandwagoning and people not being able to understand what they see more than him being a poor character.

I voted for Cecil, Terra, Zidane and Lightning.

Vaan was ultra mega gay and FFXII was bad. At least Tidus was a badass at blitzball (the best minigame to grace a FF).

If only they had the rendering technology for Tidus to scrunch his nose with the proper nuance he would have been a much more beloved character.

Pretty much. Vaan was by no where near as bad as some on the list. As many have stated he wasn't even the main character.

Controlled character in WKC was along to get his/her damn pay for that initial job at the beginning of the game.

Vaan was a bad character. Very bad. I understand his place in the story, but it doesn't mean it was necessary at all. He added nothing. Penelo even less... well except for that booty.

Also, Zidane was an ugly character, but was one of the few with a likable personality... or a personality at all.
