Kuya, I'm sure if a guy got drunk somewhere and was raped by another dude, everyone would be admonishing him for putting himself in a really shitty situation.

No straight man could be raped, it's physically impossible. If he got raped, he wanted the D.
Also, the girl was 16. Last I checked, 16 year olds do some pretty stupid things. It's that exploratory segment of your life and all.
I think its a normal part around living near poor people.
Because you said so? Naw. I don't live in an ideal, perfect world. I believe in people protecting themselves and being smart enough to realize that everyone isn't going to do what they should do.
So you're saying she's partially to blame?
I'm saying that there's a much higher probability that it wouldn't have happened if she weren't blackout drunk. Take that how you will.
No one is disputing that.
Her taking the one in a thousand risk of rape from getting drunk one night is so insignificant it shouldn't even register on your radar, when the other factor is what everyone else did that night.
There's no equivalency to be drawn, no "both sides made mistakes", none.
Good to know you think there's equivalency to be drawn between getting drunk and raping someone.
Peace.
I dunno.
I thought he just had issues with feminism, but now he's in here making these arguments...
Arguments that people should take care of themselves? I know that is anathema to feminists because feminism is all about victimhood and the absolution of personal responsibility. That you embrace that ideology will of course have us at odds when speaking on such issues. The fact that you think you theft isn't far more common poor areas speaks volumes about your disconnect with reality.
Its fine to wish for an ideal world, but you have to also realize that we don't live in one. Actions have consequences... feminists (JtO's term 'gender idealogues' seems more apt) tend to forget that.
I never said theft isn't more common in poor areas. That certainly is the popular perception, but it doesn't cease from being a classist statement.
Feminism is about victimhood and absolving personal responsibility? Redefining words to suit your animus doesn't mean you're right. Finally, you said i was creating false equivalences in a different thread, but in this thread you seem (i stress seem) hellbent on creating an equivalence between getting drunk at a party and getting raped.
Not once did I ever try to create an equivalance between getting drunk at a party and getting raped. Archi is the one trying to do that which is why I won't be responding to him further and its cute that he thinks I will.
And yes, that's exactly what feminism is and always has been about. Maybe not your rare breed of feminism but...
And if a factual statement is a classist statement, then oh fucking well.
