Season 2 was delayed to hell and back because they didn't want a full metal alchemist situation where they have to just make a whole different show after a point cause of the rate that the manga is released. It's supposed to now be at a pace where the anime and manga will end at roughly the same time. P. Sure the writer also said the manga will be over in a couple years, at this point.

Oh you'll get more Levi. Even a backstory with a certain someone he meets from his past that makes his entrance grand. I also wonder how they'll do the zeke reveal in the anime. Add new dialogue maybe?

Season one was pretty much the manga coming to life in all it's glorious panels. Season two is similar though it gave more backstory and flashbacks in some areas to better flesh out the reasoning for why things were happening. The manga kinda just left you to wonder and explained it later down the line. I don't think you'd miss out on much if you're not super huge in seeing everything AoT related.

Yeah that means the basement reveal only happened in the last year. I'm so glad I waited until a week before season 2 was coming out to get into AoT lol. I've skipped all the big waiting.
