That the Ackerman’s were specifically bred through “Titan science” to be the monarchy’s right hand men/warriors. And heavily implied whatever the Titan experiments were that it was of a different lineage than Ymir, same with the Asians.

It wasn’t until the erasure of everyone’s memories that the monarchy ordered them to be executed. All because they were also immune to the memory wipe because of the different bloodline.

I’d have to go back and find the chapter, but I think that was the gist of it.

Probably can't even call translations 100% reliable, either. Like for the longest time they used to call Eren's ability the Coordinate, but lately it's been like, Rumbling or something? I don't know, at this point I feel more inclined to trust the anime's interpretation of things since I think even the author admitted they wanted to tweak things here and there.

You’re right. I remember reading the author wanted to make the anime are more accurate representation of the story he’s trying to tell. Iirc he was disappointed with the pacing of his manga or something like that.

They have never explicitly stated what made the ackerman's different though have they? For all we know it's just a line of Asian descendants of ymir who are immune to the coordinates abilities. We only know of 3 ackerman who are special in any way no? The rest are just normal people are all we know. And even then, the ackerman we know could just be special cause they've trained for battle for decades.

Has nothing to do with training. Mikasa awakened her power as a kid to protect Eren. Levi suggests he and Kenny had similar moments in life. So basically they need some sort of trauma to first tap into the power.

We finally get a hint at Zeke's plan, which is also Eren's plan...maybe? Get the higher up soldiers innoculated with Zeke's spinal fluid, then change them all and the island is toast. This is great if you want to rid the world of Eldians with little fuss, but if Eren knows this then what's his angle?

Best setup chapter in a very long time. Normally they're very boring but they set this up and almost answered the questions in the same chapter. Well done!

Since the anime extrapolated on this a bit, I'm getting the vibe the founder's personality/memories actually are imbuing into Eren similar to how they did to the Reiss inheritors. It just may not be as fast or obvious since they didn't know him like they did Bert.

Anyway, the Ackerman stuff is something I kinda suspected, minus the host imprinting.

I wonder who Levi imprinted as his host then or if he has one atm. Kenny raised him but he was also an Ackerman and Erwin is the likely candidate for a host but he's long been dead. If host imprinting is only for those of Royal blood then Historia should be the current host.

its possible once the ackerman's power is released they can just call on it whenever. They really didnt go in depth into when it's working or not. Clearly every one of the nine titans is cursed with the memories of the past hosts, and since our personalities are based on our memories and experiences it makes sense that the more you remembered of the past the more your personality would change. The Attack Titan having this type of attitude does not surprise me considering his father and the person who passed it to eren's father. For a moment I thought Eren was going to turn and eat Armin, since he seems to be collecting titans now lol. Really dont like evil Eren though.
