    Zombieland TV

A few days ago we reported some new story and character details on an awesome Zombieland TV series being developed for our viewing enjoyment. Broadcast Now recently reported that Amazon is developing the property as an original series. It looks like they are following in the footsteps of Netflix, which is producing several original TV series as well.

Each episode will be 30-minutes long, and it will stick with the original comedy/adventure/horror concept that we saw in the film. It will include the same characters, with a couple of new ones as well.

    Characters plus their rolls
    Spoiler: show
    Tallahassee
He is still kind of a snarky weirdo, but he seems to have a much less spiky relationship with Columbus. He and Columbus have a pretty amusing thing where they riff on the fact that Steven Seagal movies always have three-word titles like "Marked for Justice" or "May Cause Diarrhea." But Tallahassee also dispenses homespun wisdom about how to feel happy with your life. He also tells a weird story about being in a trailer park with a perpetually nude Matthew McConaughey. He also has a somewhat heartwarming scene where he tells Columbus that he's been wandering aimlessly for a long time, but maybe he's been put here for a reason — to help Columbus and the others.
    Columbus
He is much the same, except that he tracks down his grandma and grandpa (Bubbie and Peepaw) only to find them recently zombiefied. Also, Columbus is trying to deal with his newfound relationship with Wichita, after their first kiss. He has started calling her "Krista," her real name — but there are some problems, especially after she finds him reading a book about fatherhood. He tries to organize a romantic scavenger hunt for her in the IKEA they're camping out in, but it goes kind of horribly.
    Wichita
She is still trying to look after Little Rock, trying to teach her math with problems about someone stealing from a liquor store and jumping on a train going 42 miles per hour, with a cop chasing in a car going 88 miles per hour. We also learn a lot more about Wichita's backstory, including how she ran away from her father after he had her stealing people's Christmas presents — and later, she found out she had a sister who was also being a grifter with her dad.
    Little Rock
He seems actually kind of excited about meeting Columbus' grandparents, before they turn out to be zombies. And she shares some of her own backstory, about how her dad parked her at a school while he went off grifting on his own — and then yanked her out of school right before a dance that she was looking forward to.
    Fred and Ainsley
They are two office workers at the start of the zombie apocalypse, obliviously complaining about problems with their iPhones and getting the wrong order at Starbucks, which they admit are "first world problems" with a hashtag — while people are being disembowled just outside the window they're not facing. Tallahassee shows up to bring them their lunch orders, wearing a green polo shirt.

Wow, that was really bad. Probably greenlit it because it cost fuckall to produce.

They lost interest after it took to long to green light the script. Woody didn't want in because zombies were being done to death at that point (walking dead).

Had some funny moments, but quite horrible. Just not the same w/o Woody. Everyone else was pretty horrible too...

It's crazy that they went the route the did. Right after the movie came out people were talking about how good a show in that universe would be even without the movie characters. They could even make cameos if possible.

They just made the worst possible decision in recasting them.

The first of Amazon’s experimental original series to fall is also its most high-profile: Zombieland co-creator Rhett Reese has announced that the show based on his hit 2009 movie “will not be moving forward on Amazon,” where it debuted little more than a month ago—tossed out to live or die, according to its customer feedback. Unfortunately, that feedback was less than glowing, with Zombieland’s 3.7 out of 5-star rating deeming it not the worst of its fellow prospective series (that honor goes to Browsers), but it's definitely far from the reception Reese expected.

“I’ll never understand the vehement hate the pilot received from die-hard Zombieland fans,” Reese said, unclear as to why those who claimed to love the film would react so negatively to a smaller version that replaced its stars with imitation unknowns, in an attempt to replicate its charms on the cheap. But thanks to those picky, impossible-to-please-on-a-budget fans, “You guys successfully hated it out of existence,” Reese added bitterly. So, congratulations on having standards and using a democratic system the way it was meant to operate, everyone. You successfully made Rhett Reese sad.

Wow, he actually seems surprised people hated the recasting. It was such an obviously poor decision that I can't believe they moved forward with it at all. That shit doesn't work anymore.

How the hell did it get 3.7/5....? It was pure crap... I'd give it a 2 and that'd be generous, simply hoping it has promise.

They should have just made entirely new characters instead of trying to replicate zombieland success.

There's only one time I can think off were it was a smooth transition and that was sg1.

And that was only cause the actors and characters were better by not trying to carbon copy it
