Was doing the Yennefer quest last night and the Djinn was kicking my ass hard, like two shotting me thru Quen and the wraith decoction. I tried four or five times but after dealing with death, ten years of loading to retry and then death again I started to get really pissed. So I broke by vow to not check out things online for my first playthrough, and sought out a strat to beat it...and it turns out it's a well known glitch if you have enemy scaling on that the Djinn gets ridiculously overleveled...so, turned off scaling and killed it in like ten seconds. Fun times. Then I shot down Yennefer because Triss is bae.
Gtfo. #TeamYennefer
Red heads, man. Red heads.
Holy shit, this game.
THROW THAT BABY IN THE OVEN!
I still have the DLC to do, but I finished the base game finally. I can understand why so many people named this the 2015 GOTY. I got the ending whereand I feel fine with that. After the fact I looked up what the major decisions were to determine the ending and was pretty surprised at how innocuous the choice seemed at the time. Some of them made sense, others were like damn she really cared about it that much?Spoiler: show
Anyways, I was already greatly enjoying the game but everything from The Battle of Kaer Mohren to the end just took it to an entire new level of amazing. 10/10 for real. After I do the DLCs I'll try a NG+ on Deathmarch difficulty and I'll bang Yennefer this time instead of Triss.
man the battle of kaer mohren was like the most lit thing i can remember from a vidya
Oh snap, I'm there now and I'm eager to see what happens but I gotta recruit all my peeps first

I haven't played the dlc yet, but from what I heard it's actually legit dlc and not just 2 random missions or whatever
Both the DLCs are full DLCs. Both have their own storyline that you tackle over the course of many missions. Clocking in at 10 hours and 20 hours.
Also, and perhaps this is a product of me only playing the game and not reading the books, but why would anyone prefer Yennefer over Triss? Throughout the entire game, Triss is friendly and working to help others while Yennefer is a sarcastic cunt control freak who treats Geralt like garbage while manipulating EVERYONE around her for her own gains. And when you do break things off with Yennefer she responds with the maturity of a teenage girl.
Alot of that is a book thing. Yen and Geralt were together for a very long time (and raised Ciri together), Triss is basically a one night stand in comparison.
Also some of us like crazy bitches :O
i was all aboard the triss train and made sure witcher 3 ended in her station iykwim
Also for some of us we spent Witcher 2 romancing Triss and it was nice to have a different option.
Pretty much this ^, Triss is totally bae but having done the porkins already with her Yen was a nice fresh choice plus i felt it was the more canon choice on my first playthrough so theres that aswell.
Finished the Heart of Stone DLC.

Edited, I'm a dumbass that posted an old and stupid article. Ignore
