      Spoiler: show
Regardless of the flaws in Ridley Scott's Prometheus, I still really enjoyed the movie, and I've been hoping that they would make a sequel. In a recent interview with the movie lead actress Noomi Rapace told The Playlist the following,

They're working on the script. I met Ridley in London a couple of weeks ago. I would love to work with him again and I know that he would like to do another one. It's just like we need to find the right story. I hope we will.
One thing we know for sure about the sequel is Damon Lindelof isn't working on the script this time around. But it will be interesting to see how the story continues from where it left off. I'm sure everyone's learned from the mistakes in the first film, and the next one will be even better. Rapace goes on to talk about what it was like shooting the movie saying,

I love working with Ridley. It was pure joy. It was really hard work sometimes. My body was a complete mess – I had bruises and cuts and emotionally I was a bit slammed. But being in his world and his universe was such an amazing experience.
She went on to discuss people's different views on the film and exploring some of these things in the sequel saying,

And it's interesting because people, most people I've talked to who see the movie, see things that are quite different. Some people who see the movie many times and discover new things. There are all these religious aspects and there are very interesting conversations. And for me, if we do a second one, there are a lot of things to explore in there and to continue. I would love to do it.
When asked who was writing the sequel, she wouldn't say.

eyes lit up when I saw the thread, my only real complaint from the first is that the crazy hyping siren-screaming sounds of the preview were not used in the movie

    looking forward to this

It's already better then the first one with Lindelof not touching the script.

  19. #19

imo, the problem was more about ridley scott ("im barren" was his idea and he clipped out explanations), it's just being pawned off on lindelof. the different scripts are available online, spaiths' is called alien - engineers, lindelof's is paradise.

Ridley Scott's Prometheus sequel is moving forward, and 20th Century Fox has hired Jack Paglen (Transcendence) to write the film. As of right now, Scott is only attached as a producer on the film so there's a chance he won't be back to direct it. Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender are expected to reprise their roles though.

There's no information on what the story will entail, but one of the last things we heard was that Scott and the studio were having a hard time cracking the story.
