    It would be somewhat difficult to fix the parser given that the output is a totally customizable string in no particular order. It's possible, but you'd have to manually input the strings into the parser probably. A much more attractive option is parsing the action packet.

    The action packet would contain information like user, target(s), damage, etc. and it's going to do everything by monster ID numbers instead of names so it'll be unambiguous (between different monsters with the same name). Also, you receive action packets even for messages that you block, so you could parse your entire alliance while filtering out all messages that don't pertain to yourself, could see skillchain damage even if it is blocked by gearswaps, etc. Furthermore, display modifications like the above would occur after the parser has extracted all the information, so they wouldn't interfere with it at all. Additionally, if such a parser was built into Windower then it could show some party damage statistics in real time, similar to Suji's recently pushed plugin.

    I think Aureus is going to try to expose the action packet this weekend (so Lua can see it), so I guess we'll see where we go from there. I'll probably make major changes to the addons I've written so that they go off the packets rather than the text when it becomes an option.

    That would be amazing if you could parse whilst keeping the log filtered. Half the reason I don't parse as often now (I make others do it for me!) is purely because of the battle log spam.

    Everything else is just a bonus like the Live DPS and the such. That's awesome in itself though.

    Awhile back Motenten said he was moving kparser in the direction of not parsing the logs. Not sure where it is/how far he has gotten, but it sounded like it was already in the works.

    Byrth, when switching atma today, Where I normally get 3 "[name]'s Atma effect wears off." in a row, I got "[3] [name], [name], and [name]'s Atma effect wears off."

    Not a huge deal or anything, just wanted to let you know in case you wanted to code it to compensate for the same effect wearing off the same person multiple times.

    Anyone else having an issue on windows 8 where certain animations(or something) crash the game? I think its animations because I was idling fine in Jueno until someone cast pollen, same in dynamis, was fine until I used Victory Smite or my puppet used an attachment.

    I just dowloaded Windower 4 today and I must say that it's really amazing, got it all installed and working with the plugins I wanted in less than 10 mins, thank you so much for all your efforts. The only thing Iam having
    trouble with is the LUA. I went to the github site to try and get the aoebgone LUA working and honestly I can't even figure out how to D/L anything from that site. Do I need an acct and be signed in? Also do I need to create
    a seperate folder for each LUA I D/L? For example if I D/L aoebgone, do I need to create a folder within Addons called aoebgone and then place the files in that folder?

    Yes, if you download aoeBgone then you would create a new aoebgone folder and put the file in it so it ends up with this file path:
    ../addons/aoebgone/aoebgone.lua

    This is coming along. It now uses custom chat logs and the works. I'm probably going to have to merge it with aoeBgone so that they can operate on the same messages as aoeBgone and further condense 2+ line buff/debuff messages. The downside of doing text manipulation is that it's order dependent, so having two plugins that both operate on the same text leads to problems.

    Anyway, it loads from a settings file and I haven't been able to break it yet, but I'm sure someone will find a way:



    What other features do people want?
    I want it to randomly pick from a list of sick burns that I input, rather than display the same fixed one <_<

    Noticed with a couple things with aoebgone:
    - When multiple of the same item drop, and the lines of chat are next to each other, some of the item drops will actually be truncated from the log. Noticed this farming for seals and wondering why I was getting shit drops. Not a big issue I guess, but kinda misrepresents what drops you get.
    - When Protect and Shell (long-casting spells) are dispelled by mobs, it takes a few extra seconds for them to show in the log that they were removed than normal. Example: Dispelling Wind from a wyvern would take away three effects, Baraero would be shown in log immediately but Protect and Shell would not.

    Typically this is a missed ending tag (</if>, etc) or missing include.

    Hello everyone!

    Thanks to substantial alpha work by Thoraeon of the FFXIAH forums, Battlemod is ready for beta testing now. There are installation instructions in the readme.md. It includes all the features of aoeBgone, a more refined version of "super silence," allows customizable battle chat log replacement, and lets you turn specific things all the prettiest colors (of our 509 color palette). You can check the YouTube clip a few posts up to see it in action.

    That said, this is a beta. While I don't expect normal use of this plugin to lead to crashes, I cannot recommend spamming "//bm colortest". Use it once, grab your colors, and stop using it. It can cause strange effects, and it seems to only cause them on my computer at the moment. I basically don't trust it.

    Thanks for the suggestions and I do have a list of the unfinished business/bugs aoeBgone should still possess. I'm looking at them and also considering how I can use information from the action packet to make this addon more reliable/useful as well. If you find more bugs, please let me know via PM or post.

    I thought I had finally figured out this LUA today and was messing with btimers and got it D/Led and got it pathed correctly, when I went to load it in game I got this error
    "Windower4/addons/btimers/btimerslua 14 module 'tablehelper' not found
    no field package preload ['tablehelper'] did I miss a file in the zip? I double checked and have the LUA and the readme in the btimers folder.

    This might be a stupid question but can you change BG Resolution in Windower 4? I see the option for the size of your window but don't see where you can change the BG Resolution like you could in old Windower / Sandbox.

    They handle that through "Super Sampling." As I understand it, there's no perceptual difference in increasing your background resolution past twice your window size, and using odd in-between resolutions can result in strange aliasing effects. So the settings available are basically "2x screen size" for background resolution or "1x screen size."

    Ok, thanks. I have that toggled on since I thought that's what it did; it just doesn't look quite the same it did before (I had it set to 2x screen size on old windower).

    I assume the fact that the majority of //bm colortest turns up as white for me is an issue with my computer rather than the addon right?

    EDIT: Also, ranged attacks from mobs isn't handled by Battlemod at the moment (not sure if you knew). Shows up like you have no Battlemod running. No idea if it's the same if I used a ranged attack, will go change to a range job and check. Actually, I should say it was a Mob using Ranged Attack and missing rather than a hitting

    EDIT2: Players using ranged attacks works fine.

    Fixed the monster missed ranged attack thing. Apparently ranged attack misses are technically a different chat color than melee misses or anything. Also, fixed the monster name coloring and an issue it was having with names that included apostrophes:
