HAHAHA WHAT THE FUCK
A WoW F2P collectible card game.
Hot pack opening action!
This presentation is so cheesy but I cant help but think this may be fun to dick around with for a few days. But I don't think this was anything nearly as interesting as everyone was hoping but I don't know what we were expecting from a non blizzcon announcement.
It'll only be fun to dick around with because it's f2p. How long that will last for me will be a function of how hard the upsells are.
This is funny
Now integrate it with WoW...
"It's not a sequel, expansion or that rumored next-gen MMO". I was seriously not the only person who thought we'd get a new IP, was I? Fucking A+ trolling, I swear. I know this game fits into that description as long as you're not anal about the "sequel" part but jesus christ do I feel deceived.
My fault for getting excited I guess.
i died when they started shout casting it looooooooool
If you consider the venue this announcement fits pretty well. There are lots and lots of tabletop, miniature and card gamers at PAX every year. The only awkward part is if attendees forgot to bring their battle.net authenticators with them and find themselves unable to sign up for beta until after PAX is over.
I think everyone in existence got themselves overhyped because we're not used to seeing Blizzard making anything small in scale.
At some point when I read these teasers from certain companies (like Blizzard) I start generating the first negative thing I can while looking for their loophole.
Sequel? X
Expansion? X
Next-Gen MMO? X
Remake/Remaster?
Port?
Reusing IP for other game styles?
So I'm not surprised at all.
Edit: Plus the way they worded it made me kinda frown. If they had used some crazy background with new looking IP characters and gave a ton of winking and nudging, maybe I wouldn't have been so suspicious of it.
I don't get why people are so angry. Reddit is freaking out like its the end of the world. Sure we're all a little disappointed but damn. It's a new team of 15 developers that have no bearing or effect or delay on long term Blizzard projects. There is still a new IP and Titan in development. These guys job is to make short and small scale games. If they can push out a small little F2P game every year that'd pretty pretty cool.
Probably more upset over the bait & switch. Don't make it sound like a new IP and then bring that out? Maybe make it look very WoWish to tease the right audience?
I'm not angry, just apathetic.
Eh, I think the game could be fun especially if you can do it on your phone/mobile etc. That's kind of neat and it could be a cool time killer. Either way, I'm sure they're waiting for Blizzcon to throw down the big news and this was a little something to toss out there for PAX.
Id play it on my phone if it was free.
