Just FTR, someone edited BGwiki claiming that the Traditional mage pants give 10% Fast Cast. Go forth and forget Homam +1!
Probably based off this post? http://www.bluegartr.com/threads/115...=1#post5654449
Anyone know what you need to finish vegetable vegetable revolution?
This post gets the wrong numbers and likely wasn't done by watching recasts in the casting menu, but that also could be true for the comment posted on bgwiki. The observation posted on bgwiki (assuming it was done correctly) could still be anything between 8% and 11%. I'd like confirmation using this method, if anyone can:
1) Go to Abyssea on a job without Fast Cast and without Haste gear.
2) Kill yourself.
3) Cast Reraise with the pants on from the menu and write down the recast that appears in the spell casting menu when the spell goes off
4) Put on one 5% Fast Cast Atma (Rescuer, Tusked Terror, Ambition, or Lightning Beast)
5) Cast Reraise with the pants on from the menu again and write down the recast that appears in the spell casting menu when the spell goes off
6) Either calculate it yourself or post it back here and someone will tell you what the pants Fast Cast is.
Calculating it yourself:
* Weakened Reraise has a recast of 120 seconds.
* Fast Cast applies in single percentage points, which equals floor(Fast Cast %/2)
* The recast time that appears in the menu is a floored version of this, because it doesn't show fractional seconds.
Example 1: If you have 3% Fast Cast, you get a 1% reduction in recast time ( floor(3/2) ) and would expect a 118 second Reraise recast ( floor(120*.99) ).
-- If you observe a 118 second recast, you know that you have either 2 or 3% Fast Cast on.
Example 2: If you have 24% Fast Cast, you get a 12% reduction in recast time ( floor(24/2) ) and would expect a 105 second Reraise recast ( floor(120*.88) )
-- If you observe a 105 second recast, you know you have either 24 or 25% Fast Cast on.
from OFWe've been seeing a lot of comments about reive evaluations and I wanted to give you all an update on the situation.
Healing is not being factored into evaluation
After taking a look into this, it was determined that there is a bug. We will be working to fix this along with enhancing magic and such so that they are properly factored into evaluation.
Difficulty being evaluated
By participating in reives, a score will be attributed to you character at certain points in time as your actions are evaluated. With this score, there is a cap set for how much experience points and bayld you can acquire.
For example, let’s say there is a rule where for melee attack evaluations for every 1000 damage you gain 10 points.
In the case of this rule:
5000 damage worth of melee attacks would result in 50 points.
900 damage worth of melee attacks would result in 0 points.
In other words, if you do not reach the minimum value you will not receive experience points and bayld when you are evaluated. Also, this value has been set separately for each action; however, because it has been set somewhat high, we will be making adjustments to the points given for this minimum value.
To give you an idea, we will change it so it is closer to 1 point for every 100 damage worth of melee attacks.
Post-adjustment:
5000 damage worth of melee attacks would result in 50 points. (no change from current)
900 damage worth of melee attacks would result in 9 points. (Points are gained)
To put it another way, we will be increasing the opportunities that you can receive experience points and bayld.
However, separate from this rule, evaluation will take place to estimate how much you accomplished the original goal.
Colonization reives’ main purpose is to clear the way of things that are obstructing colonization, so the goal would entail how much HP you cut off the obstacle. For lair reives, the goal entails how much HP you cut off the monster’s lair. Depending on how much HP you are able to damage these for, you will be able to receive a proportionate amount of experience points and bayld; however, if you are unable to damage their HP this will not be factored into your evaluation.
The aforementioned bug fix and adjustments are currently taking place, and will be reflected after the maintenance is over at 10:30am PDT. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Slightly off topic, but I can't seem to figure out how to the 3 regions (Middle Lands, Ulbuka and Aradjiah) would fit on world map. Has anyone tried piecing them together?
middle lands and aradjiah have been pieced together before.
we don't know how Ulbuka would look relative to Middle Lands cos theres no sea route map to give a sense of the map's scale or distance
So what's the deal with the big elemental NMs (t-rex, shark, etc.), are they like old school HNMs? From some new type of battle content? Or do we not know yet?
new type of battle content. they haven't been unlocked yet, but they're only in wildskeeper reives, which are only accessed by way of KI. it looks like the they're spawning currently, so they're probably hourly like other Reives. (though then you're limited to the six hour recast on impripatrs or w/e theyre called)
Found this while exploring Ceizek Battlegrounds and didn't see anyone post about it, conned as ITG and did nothing except occ have a paralyze aura, managed to kill it before getting killed by adds (was low on mp to begin with and paralyze ate convert), nothing happened, didn't get exp/bayld and no message about it affecting colonization, so idk what the purpose is of killing it.
they're there to make life difficult for you and to add the terrain danger aspect.
i think some quests involve these things..
but there are others like it.. rocks, fungi.. and those things actually do damage
i don't think anything links with it.
