Unfortunately, Kevin Conroy will not be voicing Batman in the upcoming video game Batman: Arkham Origins. NAG Magazine revealed the news in their May issue. They state that WB Games Montreal wants to use a new younger actor because the game features Batman in his early years. The new actor hasn’t been revealed yet.

Having grown up watching Batman: the Animated Series, I don't care about the age of Batman, not having Conroy do the voice is just going to sound weird..

These two (particularly no Conroy, since you could do it without the Joker), throw in No Rocksteady, and it's gone from instant pre-order to "Wait and see."

Kevin Conroy will be in Batman: Arkham Origins, and he's already spent 10 months in the studio recording those gruff-yet-dulcet tones. Conroy confirmed his involvement at Dallas Comic-Con, but didn't specify if he plays The Bat himself - not that he has to. He opened the panel with, "I am vengeance. I am the night. I am Batman." Because, you know, he is.

NAG magazine reported in April that Warner Bros. had passed on Conroy for Arkham Origins.

Conroy voiced Batman in both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, and he was the man behind Bruce Wayne in Batman: The Animated Series, Batman: Beyond and subsequent DC universe cartoon spin-offs. Arkham Origins is scheduled to launch on October 25 for Xbox 360, PS3, PC and Wii U.

A note about the voice-acting: Reports about Arkham series stalwart Kevin Conroy's involvement or lack thereof have been confusing. Conroy had played Batman in the last two games, but early coverage of the game suggested he was not in Origins. This game's younger Batman will be played by Roger Craig Smith, who played Chris Redfield in recent Resident Evil games, Ezio in Assassin's Creed II/Brotherhood/Revelations, and Sonic the Hedgehog. Mark Hamill won't be the Joker this time. BioShock Infinite's Troy Baker will.

What of Conroy recently saying he's working on a new Arkham game? Either he's talking about a different game or he has a surprise role in this one. A PR rep for the game confirmed the new voice actors for Origins' leads but declined to clarify what Conroy was talking about nor even clarify whether he is in the game at all or not.

ok so why couldnt conroy do that batman? the voice isnt bad but I would have much rather had the real batman
