Final Fantasy Music Remastered

Square Enix has a trio of nostalgic Final Fantasy CDs in the works. Final Fantasy IV Original Soundtrack Remaster Version is slated for release on July 3.

While we’ve seen a bunch of Final Fantasy IV soundtracks over the years, this CD has remastered Super Famicom tunes including "The Red Wings," "The Theme of Love," and "Battle with Golbez’s Four Fiends." First print copies will have a Yoshitaka Amano illustration on the cover.

Later this year, Square Enix will release remastered soundtracks for Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy VI.

Not the biggest fan of the 4 fiends music. If they have the regular boss battle theme on that, I'll buy. Also need Within the Giant.

what i don't get is that they've been doing a lot of superceding for FF4.
FF4 had a DS version, which already came with a "remastered" OST, then the game itself became HD2D... and now they're remastering the original OST again?
so which is supposed to be the 'updated' version?

also, are they remastering the whole OST? perhaps these versions are used in the iOS ports of FF5 and FF6

Its not that I don't like the original, its that I like both other battle themes better, especially the Boss Battle, which was good enough to be essentially ported into Super Mario RPG. That song is delicious. I still listen to it around once every other day.

Well that I can understand. FF4 had one of the best battle and boss battle themes.

FF4's standard battle theme was ok, but I still like 6 the best in that department. I still contend that FF4 did have one of the best final boss themes in the series though.

FF8 wins both final boss and boss battle theme for me. But FF4 boss battle is up there. The final battle one never stuck out to me too much.

It was kind of weak, cause you never knew who was behind everything till the end...Kind of mellow dramatic (oh it's YOU that's the real evil....Okay).


Going to go with FFV and FFVI final boss music (The Final Battle & Dancing Mad)...Clash on the Big Bridge is my main jam

Ultimecia definitely has the best final boss theme song in the series.. FF4 is a close 2nd for me too, though.
