As for the Caps game, that was terrible. They played pretty fucking hard until the b2b goals in the 2nd and honestly, they kept playing for the most part after, just no luck and the Rags were all about defense from there on. Holtby didn't play well tonight, and Erskine made some bad turnovers. Tha fans stayed pretty loud all game tbh, we quieted down a little after the 2 quick goals, but kept cheering, it wasn't until the 4th that it got quiet and people bailed on the 5th.

I stuck it out though and cheered the team on the last couple mins. People rag on Ovie but he played really well for most of this series, Henrik just played better. Most casual fans only equate goals and assists to playing well and that's why they think he was terrible. He didn't play great in games 4 and 5 but he was pretty amazing in the last 3 games, just couldn't get one in the net..

Anyone who thinks Oates or Holtby should be gone don't know shit about the team. This team is going to be one of the best in the league next year, it's just a matter of figuring it out in the playoffs. Holtby has played one bad game in the playoffs, in his second fucking year, he is going to be here a long time and be one of the best goalies in the league. A full off-season with Oates and possibly a little new blood will do wonders for this team, he completely transformed them from shit, back into a damn good team in half of a season.

I kind of doubt Ribeiro will be back, he was pretty terrible in the playoffs, lots of great puck possession but no real good passes or shots other then the OT winner. He also took some terrible penalties and lost his cool multiple times(including a 10m misconduct tonight with 4m to go). I'm not sure what will happen with MoJo now, as he disappeared in the playoffs. We really don't have much cap room next year though, after the Erat trade, and need to sign MoJo and Alzner to new contracts, who are both RFAs.

Honestly, while most people are pissed at this team, I saw this season as a new beginning, as I thought they would be pretty bad and Oates turned them completely around. While Hunter did pull out some success last year, it was mostly just grit and luck and not what this team was really all about, or even close to sustainable. With Oates, I have seen a team that can continue to learn and get better.

Now, I know he used to be like that when he was first coming into the league but hasnt he pretty much toned it down the last few years?
