In prison a inmate would make cents/per day..... and if he needs to pay off hundreds of people then most would probably never see a real amount thay could replace the stolen items.

A guy I used to work with got busted for drug possession with intent to distribute (weed and cocaine) way back in 1996. He was ordered to pay 100k in restitution. He spent 10 years in prison where he paid a whopping $3000 toward that bill. Since 2007 when he got out he has only managed to pay an additional $6000. He will never pay the full amount before he dies. Dude is already 56 years old.

Makes me wonder how much the stolen stuff was worth in CS's case.

According to one of my coworkers who was a former prison guard, inmates in Florida DO NOT make any money while incarcerated. The only way they get any money is if friends or family deposit money into their inmate account.
