Seriously amazing first episode. I'm almost already tempted to call it the anime of the season, despite the fact that I've only seen 2 other new animes thus far (and 1 of them is an amazing 4 series Pokemon OVA) and despite only seeing 1 episode of this. It's like a cross of Gurren Lagaan, Star Driver and PSnG, while still adding its own unique touch.

The third anime I've seen I really liked as well. I have a hunch we're gonna be really spoiled with a fantastic anime season

I felt a little underwhelmed but that might be because of the TTGL hype I've been hearing about it.

On its own it was still a very enjoyable first episode. Hopefully it'll continue being this way.

Sounds like nonsense, if you compare the first episode of both shows then Kill la Kill is way ahead. I dunno why you would be disappointed in a show that hasn't even gotten started yet compared to one that is finished.

Just watched the first ep on my lunch break, and oh boy did it ever deliver. Assuming that it can keep up this level of quality it should easily be my favorite show of the year.

I usually wait until the anime season is over to marathon shows but I guess I'll have to watch this one right now.

Underwhelmed and disappointed are two very different things. When I watched TTGL I had no hype, I had way too much hype for this.
