I'd get FF8 HD. I'd love to play it again, but it looks the absolute shit on an HD TV. I should try it on my vita though, bet it would look better

Why do an HD version if you're not doing an engine overhaul? All it does is make something look dated.

They aren't polishing anything beyond what was already done for the PC versions in America. This is simply an announcement of the re-release of VII and VIII PC versions in Japan. You know, the versions we've had all along. With the crappy music.

I think the songs were all just midi versions of the actual songs, One Winged Angel had no lyrics, etc.

I wonder if the magic defense was even fixed for the PC version, never really thought about that when it was rereleased here already, but I'm doubting it was since they basically put 0 effort into it based on the music.

You could easily mod the pc games to replace the music but yeah, pc music was awful.

These games aren't on Steam afaik. SE released FF7 already through their online webstore thing and FFVIII is coming soon. There's nothing "HD" about these but there are achievements, cheats and remixed tracks (most suck).

I'd rather play them on a PSX emulator and spruce them up myself.

my bad i was referring to the SE store re-release with the achievements for FF7.
FF8 was already hinted at when someone accidentally leaked the achievement list i think.

that said, i'd rather play them on PSX if i had to use PC, otherwise the PSN version is still better.
