I'd post a link, but I can't SE store states; "The Collector’s Edition will be available for $79.99 on the PlayStation®3 system and the PC version will be sold exclusively at the Square Enix Online Store for $69.99."

I had wanted to preorder at Amazon. Finally went to the SE store and bought PS3v there. Set it to Second Day Air and the total came to $100something. It only charged my card $79.99 and the email receipt i received spoke of a $20 discount. No complaints here!

Huh. Regardless, after reading some more on the different versions and how it effects bonuses, items and how it relates to your 1.0CE account...decided to cancel PC CE order and go for the PS3 instead.

Players who own FFXIV version 1.0 will not need to purchase the PC version of FFXIV: ARR and will be able to download the FFXIV: ARR software for free.
* Details on downloading the FFXIV: ARR software will be provided at a later date.

Furthermore, users who have version 1.0 registration codes that have not yet been registered will be able to register them and play FFXIV: ARR on PC at the start of the service.

You will be given a 2 week "free trial" to try out ARR once it officially releases. After that you will need to subscribe. But as said before you will not have to repurchase the game.

Why are people who had 1.0 CE buying the CE again?

I'm 1.0 CE and legacy so from what I understand I should get ALL the goodies, including early access, for free.

Unless it's for the physical stuff, but the 1.0 extras were terrible anyway...

I don't see the new CE physical items worth purchasing a new one but the EU CE for 1.0 was better than the NA one apparently. We got an art book in 1.0 so that isn't appealing in 2.0.

2.0 CE is multiple tiers above 1.0 CE in terms of goodies, lol.

I was gonna' say. Not to mention the "art book" from 1.0 was hardly an art book. It was a "leather-bound" journal that happened to have some concept art thrown into the last handful of pages.

Also, the concept art from ARR is far superior.

Correct. Any ARR CE pre-order will get you the physical goodies and the pre-order code.

If you order at a correct retailer that is, as some of them are not offering the pre-order items.
