Square Enix has confirmed that it will hold a Final Fantasy event at E3. Titled “The Future of Final Fantasy,” the event will be open to press from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Pacific on Tuesday, June 11th -- the day the E3 show floor opens -- and will feature a “special Q&A session” with Final Fantasy brand director Shinji Hashimoto.
Previously, Hashimoto confirmed that a new Final Fantasy game for PlayStation 4 will be announced at E3. The title will use presumably use Square Enix’s next-gen Luminous engine, though no official details have been revealed.
We don’t know any platforms for the new Final Fantasy game other than PlayStation 4, but it’s a safe bet that we could find out more at Sony’s E3 2013 press conference on Monday, June 10th at 6:00 p.m. Pacific. Until then, read our road to E3 feature for what we’re anticipating in the reveal.

Seeing how Versus was announced in '06 and it still isn't getting anywhere, the future looks pretty gloomy no?
They need to either come with a heavy hitter like Versus or FF15 or STFU with this trolling. Let Nomura and his team stop wasting their time on a game that'll never be released and actually work on KH3 already damn it!

KH3 will never be released? Hell at least KH's story is progressing. DDD was a giant leap towards KH3, and if the rumors that BBS2 was cancelled are true, KH3 will be the next installment in the series. I'd expect it by 2015.

I just mean they've been avoiding KH3 for, what seems like, forever. KH2 was 2005, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who wishes they'd stop doing "side stories" and just release KH3.

Definitely agree with you on that. But it's not like they neglected the series since '05, which I guess is the only good thing we can say in their favor. Originally Posted by Serra
