Playing KH mainly for the plot is just lulz. Gameplays where its at.

My friend just sent me this about the trailer

Has the trailer been posted online?
As of now there's no trailer
It was miscommunication from SE or bad reporting it turns out.
Never played any of the KH games but I have this pre-ordered because A. discount, and B. I've heard its a good series. What kind of games are they? (I honestly know nothing about them)
Action RPG. You're going to be lost if you dive into 3 as your first.
But to be fair you'll be lost in the story even if you play the others.
To add, the story is basically "what if we gave a 12 year old mildly autistic child free reign to make whatever the fuck kind of fanfic tier bullshit he wants?"
The gameplay is pretty good as long as you don't get too hung up on how stupid fighting with giant keys is.
As dumb as keys are for a weapon, some of the designs were pretty cool.
The story is fine if not confusing. The only real problem with it (and the game) are the middling filler stages. All KH games have awesome openings, mid points (like strictly the mid-point) and end-games.
Gameplay is where it's at though and it gets progressively better as the series goes along.
the story in 1 was pretty easy to follow and interesting. Then CoM is pretty ehhh... then KH2 happens and it's just like a clusterfuck of nonsense.
there's a youtube that explains everything. I would just play the game while having that in the background
I was going to say, you could definitely find an explanation of the story written out somewhere to read before diving in.
I gave up on the story once KH2 hit and I didn't play the in-betweens.
Eh, the story isn't that convoluted. Albeit, I have played every side game except kh3d. But yeah, if you just play 1 and 2 and none of the side games, it is a little confusing.
Same here. I played most of the in between ones and I also actively searched for all the files to read in the game (something I enjoy doing, like in the older RE games), so it was never too confusing for me.
Since we're talking about the confusing plot
THIS WILL SPOIL THE GAMES FOR YOU, so its mostly for the people who already know
Spoiler: show
Only by exaggeration. If you think you lucked out just because of the story then you're missing out on a great series.
But I've seen people skip the series because of Donald Duck, so at this point it is what it is.
