It looks like more three-person party content. Dark Zone will totally determine if this games thrives or dies.
What will really make or break this game for me is how they handle the story. The atmosphere and setting look really cool to me, but so did Destiny's. I am definitely not down for another game where they have a cool setting and do absolutely nothing with it. I can't get behind games that just drop me somewhere on the map and then say "do what you want." I'm a very story-driven player and this is an aspect that Destiny is still failing miserably at in my eyes.
I like the mic concept where if you're near someone, you can talk to them. Reminds me of Call of Duty when they had the perk where you could hear the other team talk....that perk was sweet on S&D
There are a lot of people who are interested in The Division who weren't interested in say, Destiny. These aforementioned people, in an open/sandbox PvP environment, will cause people who expect a more structured or black/white environment to get upset.
Edit: Destiny isn't a PvP game. Your main objective to make your character better is to do the raids and grind/farm PvE content.
That's the case with The Division, except in The Division, I can just kill you to ruin the last 2 hours of your work. Instead of going to check your body, get whatever you had, I can just ignore it and kill the other people who come to help. When you run back thinking "Oh these guys gotta be lifting our stuff out, we'll get 'em", we won't be, and you'll get shot again.
There's a whole different playstyle that goes into an open/sandbox PvP environment that Destiny doesn't really offer. That might appeal to a lot of people who play Destiny, and it might not. In my experience, the aspect that other people can ruin your game is not appealing to the majority of people who play video games.
But it is not a sand box pvp environment ... only the Darkzone and just like destiny pvp is a choice..
And you can make ur character a lot better doing pvp in destiny btw..
The only part of the game that's going to matter is the Dark Zone.
Let's also try not to be disingenuous, PvP in Destiny doesn't result in losing your Gjallarhorn when you die.
Because you know for sure that the darkzone is the only endgame thats going to be in the game? Also you only lose the loot you just picked up in the darkzone that you have not extracted for that run (which you cannot even use). You are not gonna just lose your favorite weapon lol. I know what you are saying but its just not the same. The gameplay is totally different also.
edit: BTW there are instanced safe zones in the darkzone for your crew, there are darkzone specific vendors that sell darkzone specific gear also that you will not drop if you are killed. So even though darkzone is a high risk area, for those wanting that pvp itch it should be nice as there is no structured pvp like destiny.
Pretty mad the beta is same day as Rise of Tomb Raider release. Might need to take that weekend off.
Gonna be getting it on Xbone.
Me and my brother are excited for this, both on Xbox.
I plan to preorder, we shall see.
I see yall are tryna hide from getting shrekt on PC
This xbone gameplay looks very very good
Yeah I don't know how people are knocking the graphics for this game. They look pretty damn good to me. Especially the lighting.
They're knocking it because true to form for Ubisoft (and tbh almost all AAA titles these days) it looks worse then was promised in the original trailers.
Because you can't use a controller on PC...?
I feel like this is gonna be another one of those "Fallout isn't an FPS" arguments.
