I guess #PrimeDayFail was a thing today. Just going to reiterate, many of these sales are nothing special. Even that 49" 4k is decent at best. I'm no tv guru, but for $230 less I'd go with this 49" 240hz 4k tv. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16889624009

Yeah I have been really disappointed so far with the deals. Nothing really special. Not even that many good movie discounts which often times are the best discounts you can get.

Nope, it's all hype and marketing ploy bro. There are a couple of reports and articles that state that 120hz refresh rates on 4K televisions are still expensive and are still a aways away from becoming a reality.

The current HDMI standard can only work up to 30fps at 4k I believe.

HDMI standard has never been the barrier from 120hz, it has so far been the internal costs in perfecting the technology for 4K televisons.

HDMI 2.0 exists and POC for 120hz has been tested since 2013. Anything you see for now will all be 60hz, and marketed as "effective 120hz."

Amazon Prime Day is actually my birthday lol I've been periodically checking the page for things that I want that I can use, but the deals aren't good enough for me to pull the trigger. I was mildly interested in the Crucial SSDs, but I'm probably going to flip the laptop I bought earlier this year and get a nice one with SSD for work.

I saw someone tweet about a 40' TV for $115? Even if I didn't miss it, judging how fast this stuff sells, I doubt I would/can buy it as I'd feel bad for buying something without doing research on it.
