.Reynolds could at least crack a jailbait joke for Holland’s high school Spidey."
Yeah, because underaged kids being called bait to lure people to jail via illegal sexual acts and statutory rape is hilarious.
fucking SJWs
Deadpool: A bastion of respectful and responsible comedy
to be fair, deadpool was raunchy and immature, but most of the meaner/more offensive stuff was aimed squarely at himself

I think this will be the first time I am opposed to a major cast racial change. MJ not a red-head!? -_-
Should could dye it red.
I bet that kid got called Ravioli a lot. Also, why is there a fucking need to recast and reimagine every single established character? Flash Thompson is a blonde haired WASPY jock bully. He's not a short, dark haired wop from Brooklyn.
We're 1.5/5 on Spiderman movies with pretty much the same tired ass formula. Re-imagining isn't a bad idea.
I mean they already cast Marissa Tomei as Aunt May, she's gone from lovable old lady to AILF.
There are some characters you really can't change.
Flash kind of has to be the arian alpha-male...
I just don't think it can work the same as a black human torch.
Mary Jane? She has a characteristic you can't change. If she was Gwen it wouldn't matter much.
Ultimately I won't care too much, I just think they need to be careful with the diversity thing.
Eh, Gwen at the very least still needs to be a blonde. They basically changed everything else about the character (except dying) in the recent films, but being blonde is a very established part of the character.
I think the issue is that the core audience, the actual fans of the characters and the genre, are getting shit on by the pandering studios just to appease the diverse demographic that is the current audiences. I would understand if they had to recast Flash, and in the original source material, he was someone who was as portrayed wearing black-face or someone that looks anything remotely fake-brown. But it's not a movie, and the guy is drawn as a white privileged bully in a comic book. White guys make the best villains. Especially in these times where white male privilege is such an easy trigger for many people.
It's been a long time since I've interacted with anyone remotely high-school age, but wouldn't the equivalent of Flash be some black Kanye wannabe douche? Before people get triggered, think about who they cast. A dark olive skinned Italian kid as the social life nemesis for Peter Parker. Where's the social injustice outcry for portraying Italian Americans as a typical bad guys?! WHERE?! #RAVIOLILIVESMATTER
Flash would still be best portrayed as the stereotypical white, meatheaded, high school QB that dates the head cheerleader. Even if it may not be something you personally experienced, it's a standard character everyone has encountered in media.
