In accordance with the establishment of an additional regional data center, applications for World transfers of Version 1.0 characters are now being accepted.

World transfer application period:
From PDT, June 21 (Friday) to 07:59 PDT, July 15 (Monday), 2013.

I've skimmed through it but couldn't find more information on the actual locations of the servers.

It's nice it says NA/EU but being from the EU, for me it makes quite the difference if the server is located in New York, Texas or Cali.

Anyone who can provide more information regarding the actual locations?

They did say Ragnarok is recommended for EU players, but if the difference is mimimal I don't want to leave the server I'm on atm.

The servers labelled as NA/EU are all located in Montreal (Canada).

There wouldn't be much of a point to a world transfer service if you couldn't.

The 1.0 servers aren't going anywhere, the service is just for people who want to move their 1.0 characters to another legacy server.

All not JP servers are NA/EU and located in the same place. Ragnarok is just officially recommended by S-E so that EU players flock to one place instead of scattering too much.

From how I understood it. Ragnarok is an EU/US server in the Montreal datacenter like the rest of them. SE are just suggesting Ragnarok for EUs to make sure there is a significant EU playerbase on a server.

Thanks, just curious since Rag is my home from XI, but since it's EU.. Not like it matters anyway. Maybe I'll just stay on Excal; is that the "offical" BG server?

^ Excal is the official server for the XIV BG ls/fc lead by Lancaster. I think Weltall is starting one on Gilgamesh for the forum BGers + fgc peoples.
