Gunmage for Blue Mage!!!
Spoiler: show
Thief could be based around scimitar's/kukri's or some such thing. I guess leave the scimitar for blue mage down the line, though.
I dont want blue Mage that way we won't hear bout draylo
They're going to run into MAJOR issues down the line with Glad having access to all sorts of weaponry. I mean it's just having to backtrack to undo some of the stuff, but still it's going to be annoying for them I imagine.
I'm still fairly new to the whole FFXIV thing, have they announced there being two specializations at the end of a single class yet? Is that what Scholar and Summoner are? Because it would be easy to break off daggers and make a rogue class and Dancer (rogue + pug) and Thief (rogue + musketeer?) specializations at the end of it, since the two jobs use the same weapons. Or maybe they'd FFT-it and make Dancers have silk as weapons or something, lol.
Well, they could always just have Scimitars for Gladiator and Scimitars for whatever else, even though that would be kind of odd after the system they have currently set up. The weapons don't -need- to be linked to only one class/job.
Ridill for Gladiator 2013
Daggers already on GLA is not even a problem. You can just make a new weapon class called "dirk" or "kukri" or "stiletto" or "kris" and give that to the THF base class.
Similarly, you could make rapier/foil/epee and give that to Fencer ->RDM/BLU.
I wonder what second job they can give Gladiators though...
DRK?
NIN has not always been katana-based.
Throwing my vote in for motherfucking CANNONEER. That class was freakin great in FFT:A.
Templar, DRK is MRD + THM
Have they said that each class will have a maximum of 2 jobs attached? Or is it possible that more than 2 jobs would be attached to a class?
Even though Gladiator gets weapons like scimitars and daggers, I don't really see an issue with SE backtracking on those weapons. Or the base class could be Gladiator and then the job was THF (unlikely but just speculating about weapons). But when you equipped THF Soul Crystal, you could only equip daggers. This would fit with jobs being specialization.
I'm just hoping that sometime after release Yoshi devotes a whole live letter or producer letter on the future outlook and plans for classes/jobs.
