If Regen can't crit, that kinda needs to be changed. It is still nice to have something to cast while moving, but yeah. >.>

Yea where as Regen will heal on average around 420 hp for me and cannot crit.
I wont say Regen is a great spell, but I also cant say I'd never use it. As it stands atm I can find ample downtime and excess mana to throw Regen on someone without doing it while moving. Although that could easily change with level 50 content.
DoTs can crit as well, I would expect HoTs could too.
edit: beaten
Fairly certain it can't crit. Ive sat there for a decent bit of time just casting it and nada. Could just be bad luck tho I suppose
I use stoneskin pre fight and as I see mobs ready moves just so they can be absorbed by stoneskin. Hope Arc gets the AOE ability that made using stoneskin / regen completely worth it. Regen is a spell I generally throw out when the tank or back line dps dont have full hp but could be topped off. I haven't had MP issues yet just need to be better about spamming shit. I did full MND for stats didn't see a reason to put too many into Piety. I think Cnj / whm are pretty fun missing a few nice abilities from 1.0 but aside from that still enjoy playing it.
The initial hit of DoTs crit, I've never seen the ticks crit. Look at Aero:
The 50 potency attack crits, then it does a static 150 potency.Deals Wind damage with a potency of 50.
Additional Effect: Wind damage over time.
Potency: 25 Duration: 18s
WRONG AS FUCK
I just logged in to take a look, I'm gonna say it certainly seems like it can crit but it doesn't note it with a !
Cast regen, was 61-68/tic with occasional ones in the 90s.
Yea I was wrong looks like it can crit, just doesn't change the size of the numbers and bolds them like damage numbers do.
For some perspective:
Regen 2 is ~65 HP/tic for 7 tics for ~455 HP healed, MP cost 319.
~1.4 HP/MP
Cure 2 is ~650 HP healed, MP cost is 266.
~2.4 HP/MP
Outside of using it while moving I don't see the point to Regen atm.
edit: for comparison's sake
Cure 1 is ~390 HP, 133 MP.
~2.9 HP/MP
Even if it can crit, it's still much worse than casting cure.
This isn't even factoring in how little it heals for per second, so in high damage situations it's completely useless. If it was off the GCD and MP efficient it would be fantastic.Regen 2 is ~65 HP/tic for 7 tics for ~455 HP healed, MP cost 319.
~1.4 HP/MP
Cure 2 is ~650 HP healed, MP cost is 266.
~2.4 HP/MP
Also, DOT's do crit, me and Kiara just tested it.
My bad, just double checked it myself and all DoTs crit too, thank God.
I think WHM in 2.0 is more interesting than 1.0, doesn't really compare to how intense it was is ffxi, but I still think its lots of fun.
I think people have covered stoneskin's use fairly well. I like regen because it is pro-active instead of reactive, I can toss it on the tank and not have to be as nervous about 1-shot. I typically stick Aero on the mob early for the DOT and when I have spare time use my other offensive spells, I have not had issues with MP playing this way. I use Esuna for debuffs, I haven't had to worry about someone having more than one on them at a time, Noone likes being paralyzed and again its not like MP is a problem.
I think in terms of stats, I will be maxing out MND. The amount of total points is negligible that if I wanted to do an MP build I would do so through gear. As far as we are currently aware PIE no longer effects debuff potency.
Like said before...! its situational, its better then nothing cure if your having to run around because the boss decides to like bombard you 2-3 times in a row (like the Lv32 dragon CAN target you 2-3 times in a row) making you move a lot.
I have 1,349 MP on Lv35 CNJ, Cure1 54MP Cure2 109MP so I'd presume regen to be around 120-125MP.
I wouldn't be spamming regen to keep people alive, but I would if "something happened" that would not allow me to sit and spam cure1.
Esuna is just a massive pain in the arse to use. Personally I'd make it an instant cast ability, take it off the GCD, and give it a recast of maybe 1 second at most. When 3/4 of your party gets hit with 3 or 4 debuffs it's just a waste of resources to try and remove everything, especially when it's tied to the GCD like all your cures.
Was this a passive-aggressive way to bitch out FFXIV again?
Quit shitting up a genuine thread just because of who posted it. Shiyo hasn't done anything here and you guys are the ones bringing it down.
