The world first got a glimpse of the extremely promising fan-made version of Street Fighter: Assasin’s Fist (Then called Street Fighter: Legacy) three years ago. That’s a long time ago. To make the trailer a reality and a real movie, there was a Kickstarter last year which was abruptly cancelled.
Writer and director Joey Ansah (The Bourne Ultimatum, Snow White and the Huntsmen) then posted that a private group of supporters were willing to back the film directly. Now we’ve got a 30 minute question and answer session as the team leads up to a March reveal, hinting at “something to drop”.
The team has been plugging along and recently unveiled nuggets during an online Q&A session, including a reveal that their budget, while “extremely tight,” still had a “few million dollars” poured into the film. So, not exactly chump change, unless you happen to work in the film industry where money disappears like water.
You can watch the full 30 minute question and answer session above. Some other interesting facts include insights into how filming was done, such as the short span of time they had to film with or even the possibility of working in other characters from the general universe into a series.
