I do. Not the same thing, but when I was 18 I got a nose job because it was a little off, and one of my nostrils wasn't open all the way. In order to make sure that everything heal in it's proper place, they reconstruct the nostrils around 2 tubes that are a about 2 inches long and about a centimeter in diameter or so and they have to stay in for 2+ weeks after the surgery. They are also stitched to the cartilage in the middle of your nose. When I went to get them removed he took a very thin pare of scissors and cut the stitching on the right tube and slid it out...

So I get ready for the tube in the left side of my nose expecting to cream pants from the feels. He cuts the stitching in the front, and back and starts to pull the tube out. Then all I feel is a pain that is so bad that I went into a blinding rage. I let loose a scream at the top of my lungs and involuntarily punched the doctor. He drops the thing he was using to pull the tube out of my nose and ask me, "what was that for."

The stitching in the back of the tube, way up in my nostril cavity was not cut all the way, and when he pulled it didn't give. I told him this and he said, "Oh I'm sorry, I thought that it was cut all the way." Later he told me he would have done about the same if that had happen to him.

If you are Canadian, you can see a specialist (Throat/Nose/Ear Doctor) for free and they can check (although you may need to be referred by a family doctor/walk in clinic doctor). I had an issue with constant stuffed up nose and they said I had huge polyps blocking my sinuses, after surgery (yay free!), breathing just fine. But after about a month of healing they pulled something like that out of my nose, it was a piece of cloth they put in there to help healing.

I got a really bad cold in Germany that I ignored and allowed to develop into a full-blow sinus infection / pneumonia because I wasn't sure of my health insurance status over there (I'm American, so I assumed I'd pay a billion euros if I went to the doc). Eventually I did recover with the help of a 10 euro doctor visit and 10 euro antibiotic/steroid combo, and I ended up getting something like that out while blowing my nose. I showed my suitemate, who was thoroughly disgusted but also amazed and glad that he'd seen it.

There's a lot of freaking space up in your sinuses.
